Anyone order blu rays from The Hut ?

New and factory sealed.

Yes, I have, I have probably ordered about six or so, I find their service to
be comparable to Amazon UK. For international Shipping they charge one
pound, Amazon charges three, also they do not discount the blu-rays like
Amazon does, Amazon removes the VAT tax for orders being shipped out of
England. Having said that, sometimes you can find discs on their site, that are already sold out on Amazon.

From the experience i just had with them. Dont expect your pre-order to arrive on release day. Mine came about 4 days after.

They can be very hit and miss with pre-orders some a week before release others 1or2 weeks late. Used to use them a lot as got a discount through work. They can also be slow to restock.
Would never trust them with limited edition orders like steel books as their supply is to erratic.
Also worth nothing their parent company also owns the zavvi and sendit online sites.

I ordered Moneyball last sunday night (It was out the next day) and still not received it. But I have sometimes had good service.

Ordered 2012 with them, packaging was very dodgy luckily it wasn't damaged did complain and they said it was the incorrect packing and gave me £5 off my order, they handled the complaint quickly as well!

They are absolutely fine and have always offered me a very good service. I always get my packages sealed, secure and pretty cheap. Some pre-orders have arrived a couple of days early.

I'd personally put them below both Amazon and Play as far as reliability goes. On average, the delivery is longer, and there seems to be more glitches and problems regarding payments in comparison to Amazon. For example, I ordered Open Season 1&2 on Blu-ray in December I believe it was, and although it was only around £5 (good price huh?), and despite it saying "In stock" - I had to wait over a month to receive it, and while I waited, it took them weeks to get back to me as I wasn't able to cancel the order and as such receive a refund. I had to wait until they responded to me, and wait for them to cancel the order on their end - however because they took so long to reply to me, I just thought 'screw it, it's going to arrive in a few days', of which it eventually did.

In my view; they're cheap, definitely, but they're not reliable. I'd steer as clear from them, Zavvi, Hut, Woolworths etc etc when it comes to pre-orders and/or items you really want to get your hands on desperately. However if it's for an item you 'wouldn't mind', or are just popping on it because it's cheap, then I'm sure it might be okay.

I've used them and preorders varied a lot, sometimes coming the Friday or Saturday before, sometimes Monday or Tuesday - however never any payment or supply problems.

Play.com have been terrible for me, with cancelled orders for no particular reason, late delivery (as in coming the friday after the monday of release).

HMV are also on my ban list after 3 items in a row went missing earlier this year, and the argument I had with them over a misdescribed item in December which took ages to sort out and refund even though they admitted they changed the item description without telling early preorders!

Amazon have been slow for me lately, with very early preorders on free delivery not dispatching til release day - yeah, its free, but so are hut and other places and they manage better....

Like any retailer they can be good and bad in equal measure, you'll get your order but they might be a little slow but then it may arrive days early. I've had stuff that's taken weeks to arrive (even dispatch) then others that arrive in 2 working days.
Your order is certainly safe with them, they will honour the deal unlike some.

I ordered the Sherlock Holmes DVD boxset before Christmas and it was cancelled due to the wrong price, which seems quite a common occurrence. I pretty much knew that when I ordered it though.

Both Zavvi and The Hut have Ghost Protocol fro the same price, which isn't always the case even though their the same company (or Zavvi is owned by The Hut).

I wouldn't expect a speedy delivery and be prepared fro re-sealed or opened goods on older items.
