d00d, that's awesome. You could digitally insert the baby into well known historical settings and have him inadvertantly inspire different cultural events and fads and stuff.

That would be so freaking cool.

My copy of Letter Never Sent finally arrived from Deep Discount. Also, my blind buy of The Double Life of Veronique arrived today too. Can't decide what to watch first. I'm gonna try to convince my gf to have a movie night and watch both. She hates foreign films thou which sucks.

True, true. Now I have to decide whether these two films is worth that or not

How can she hate foreign films? Let her know that an enormous chunk of the greatest films ever made are not in English

You haven't seen Veronique!! Its one of the most interestingly shot films ever IMO, from camerawork to filters used (and all the color is done in camera, you'll know what I'm taking about when you see it). It's an obtuse film, not quite as accessible as Three Colors, but one of the best of the 90s for sure.

I'm having to assume that your gf is a recent Sophie Marceau look-alike contest entrant?

Off topic, whatever the topic-train might be, but Retablo appears to be 'suspended' again. Does anyone have any idea why? Never seen anything particularly objectionable in his posts. What does one have to do get suspended, other than some of the obvious infractions like cussin' or flaming??

I think he is upset Harold and Maude was delayed until June. Thus, he is playing the role of Harold.

That's cool. I'll have to keep my DVD though, since it's signed by Jarmusch.

I'd have to assume it's because of the "All the Right Moves - censored" thread.

Which is kind of ironic when you think about it...

Thanks much! But running through that was absolutely ten minutes of my life that I'll never get back! Now that I've had a nice hot shower and returned to the warmth and safety of this thread I may never leave again.

And yes, the only socially-redeeming upshot of the exercise was the delightful irony provided by Retablo's banishment from the realm.

Default Criterion boxset

Quick question - I just received the David Lean directs box set and disappointed to find the individual discs are in cardboard sleeves. Will Criterion eventually release single edition versions of this box set or is the box set going to be the only option ?
