No bass from sub, any ideas why?

I had just bought a new receiver and hooked it up last week, and the sub started intermittently working, so I thought it was the input on the receiver, but luckily, it was just the cable. You can safely use any rca cable, but most are not quite as heavy or well shielded as a good sub cable. Since it's only a line level signal being sent to the sub, you probably won't even notice much difference in performance, if any at all, until you get your replacement cable.
