Funny you should say the matrix.. I own the snap case DVD as well the blu digibook and I saw the steelbook.. but I was like nah I can't do it.. it's the same movie.. now if it was a SE version maybe.. but that movie is the only one I really double dipped on that many times.

I own very little dvd's my first was Air force one back in late '97 I think it was... until last year I only owned like maybe 6 DVD movies lol.

I try to get rid of many DVD's that I have Blu Rays of. However, I doubt we'll see re-releases of the Disney Steelboxes.

They seriously need to release XFiles on Blu Ray right now.

- The Lord of the Rings theatrical & extended versions. The theatricals because they're still great movies and the extendeds because of the packaging.

- Batman Begins. I got the limited version from Best Buy that they discontinued shortly after putting out with the comic booklet and nifty packaging.

- The Dark Knight. It's got the version with the constant aspect ratio of 2.35:1 (even though I prefer the Blu-ray version with the switching ratios) plus the IMAX scenes in their original aspect ratio on the 2nd disc.

-Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The extended cut is nice to have and was the first version I saw.

- King Kong (1933). The tin box version with one-sheet postcards and Grauman's Chinese Theater program reproduction.

I just regret selling all my Star Wars DVDs because of all the extras they had. *sigh*

I have upgraded everything I could to blu-ray at this point. I basically gave my DVD's away to family and friends. There are a few movies I haven't moved to Blu-ray due to transfer issues like Robocop, Bruce Almighty, The Fugative and Broken Arrow. At least The Fugative is getting reworked and supposedly Robocop. Otherwise, I still have a rather healthy amount of DVD movies waiting for their Blu-ray counterparts to be released

I'm not giving up ANY of my DVDs. My plan is to still keep them even if I plan to buy Blu-rays of the movies I have on DVD (heck, I even still buy DVDs as well as VHS on occassion).

Agreed! I don't see myself getting rid of them any time soon. Plus, some of my friends don't have Blu-Ray players so it's easier to take a DVD over for movie nights and such.

Gave most of my DVD's to my brother after upgrading to Blu-ray but kept a few for sentimental reason I guess:

The Good The Bad and The Ugly (2 discs collector's set)
Kingdom of Heaven (4 discs director's cut)
Lord of The Rings extended cut DVD set

and I don't plan to upgrade the other DVD's in my collection.

There's a couple, but the two predominant ones:

Fight Club steelbook (love the packaging on this one).
Jay and Silent Bob for the extras.

Possibly Night of the Living Dead 1990 if Twilight Time doesnt add the Tom Savini Commentary.
I hate to spend $35.00 on the BluRay. Upgrade in the transfer, possibly, downgrade in the extras, also probably.

First comes to mind are the handsome packaging of LOTR Extended Edition , Troy Ultimate Collector's Edition, Kingdom of Heaven Four-Disc Special Edition and AKIRA Limited Edition Tin.

Almost every DVD... I don't see why I should sell them for a few dollars a piece... it would be a waste because you'll never get the chance to get them back. I have not a lot of DVD's, I think around 650 DVD's, so they are not taking much space. And most of the DVD's are movies I don't see being released on blu-ray anytime soon.
