ummm, no?? most of the movies i watched as a kid are still as awsome today as they were back when i saw them! i havent seen this movie since i was probably very young on TV, but i remember likeing it, and dolph lundren is perfectly cast! cant think of anyone of the time better to play this part.

the only thing i remember is some weird troll looking guys and that skeletor used to scare me lol. also, i remember they whipped heman with a laser-whip and i remember feeling really bad when that was happening.

anyway, im glad i held out renting it on DVD, so now i can see it for the first time in years, in HD quality and surround sound. cant wait!

I too am so pumped. There is no way this will suck...unless they F up the transfer or G. Lucas some stupid ass lines in...

The day I watch this on my 55 inch 7.1 surround theater system in my own house after a hard days work... its going to feel like I'm 8 yrs old again (I hope I get through the whole movie before bedtime). I may even ebay some superhero undies and watch it only in that, but that may be pushing it.

Seriously? Everything that you revisit nowadays due to nostalgia still hits the mark with you? There are certain things from my childhood I still enjoy, but I've been disappointed here and there. I'm sure most of us have.

Anyway, i'm going to rent this and see if it's any better now that I'm older. I saw this as a young kid and really didn't care for it at all.

My Dad took me to watch this in the Cinema. I'll always remember it due to the memories.

My family moved from the UK to Canada for just over 3 years & I absolutely loved that place. It wasn't long after my 7th Birthday I believe.

I'll probably watch it & it will be soul destroying due to how bad it is, but hey we'll see!

HUGE fan of the score of the film. It's almost better than the film itself...and it's just been re-released!

I saw this as a kid in a theater thats been closed for 20+ years.

I remember liking this movie as a kid but the VERY few times I saw it on TV (in my early teens) it didn't age well in a variety of ways.

I remember how silly
[Show spoiler] that little dwarf guy looked and how bad the make-up effects were. He looked like a guy in a rubber mask and nothing more...his lips hardly moved at all when he spoke lol.

Movies like this though are guilty pleasures and IMO are worth buying for nostaglia sake. This and The Monster Squad are probably 2 of the most remember films of my childhood.

monster squad is the man. not only is it good for nostalgic purposes but its a good movie. while i love masters of the universe its no where near as good as monster squad. both are movies i could put on and fall asleep to everynight though.

Oh I agree about the Monster Squad. It actually sits right next to The Goonies with me in terms of "kids on an adventure" type movies.

I MS on Blu day one! Need to watch it again.

I saw this film a couple years ago, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time I saw it, which was in the 90's. Of course being an 80's sci-fi/action flick there were a few iffy blu-screen shots, but really, it was still very entertaining. Skeletor was great, fantastic costumes and sets, good music, and full of action. Very much looking forward to this one.

I agree with the poster that said it's amazing how well it turned out considering all of it's filming issues.
