You can add Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol with Dolby TrueHD 7.1 audio
when it's released on BD to the my list.

This would have to be my choice as well, the entire series is great audio and video. Great choice!

I just got a pair of 5.1 Dolby headphones and Saving Private Ryan is just amazing. You can tell when they are on the boat going to the beach that shells are being launched from behind you, toward them. So far, its stood out the most for me. That's out of the movies I have watched so far, 8mm, Gladiator, The Matrix and Live and Let Die. For an older movie, Live and Let Die is pretty good too. I'll be checking more out this week.

I wish The Red Baron U.S. version had the English version DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack instead of the DD one it has. This movie, while not historically accurate, has the best WWI aerial battle scenes I have seen. The soundtrack on the U.S. version, at times, the wind sounds like someone blowing through a straw.

I agree. I rented the BD and was going to buy it for $10 or less until I noticed it was DD 5.1 on the disc.

So, I've been lurking here for a few weeks and finally have my HT set up in my new place...and I have to say, I love it...I have always been a movie theater fan, because of its ability to transport you away from "life". I can now be transported at any time of any day...
Initially I wanted a HT for the big boomy action movies ala-
Transformers-all 3
Dark Knight
Avatar

and I loved em, but I've realized that I ENJOY directionality and nuance even more. Thus, my vote is for:

Master and Commander

Any other suggestions for movies (not scenes) that totally immerse you in their world?
I've heard 3:10 to Yuma mentioned...
Oh and is there a LIST of movies that received 5 star AQ and 5 star PQ ratings from bluray.com???

Indeed it does. It is a reference DTS-HD MA 7.1 track and the IMAX sequences are absolutely perfect.

Even after watching Underworld i still think the best blu todate when it comes to all around AQ is still Tron, the movie is ambient and powerful at the same time.

Tron does sound amazing, but it just doesn't do anything for me. I probably had too high of hopes for it when it came out.
