Like you, I totally want Blood and Black Lace as well (I think I read about it being planned by another label somewhere on the forum...anyone remember that?)...throw in Danger: Diabolik, and I'm happy.
Danger: Diabolik is far from my favorite Bava film (still love it) but its definitely one that i really would love to see in HD (check the sig). such a beautifully garish film.

Which version is Black Sunday? I like the Italian version, but I wouldn't want to be without the Les Baxter score either.

Planet of the Vampires is an amazing film. There are cheesy sci fi effects but the actors play it seriously and the ambitious color scheme works well with the plot. It's on Netflix streaming if you want to check it out.

When I was a kid, I used to see a lot of horror films and was always frustrated that they weren't scary. But "Black Sunday" was genuinely frightening. By the time it got to neighborhood theatres, it was probably 1961, so I was probably 11 when I saw it.

That's exactly why I want it released! It's far from the best, but I badly want to see what it would look like on blu-ray. If we're talking actual favorites of his films, I'd have to mention Rabid Dogs as one of the very top ones .

I really liked Black Sunday, but Lisa and the Devil is my major score. Telly Savalas is just great in that.

Black Sabbath would be amazing to get too.

Any chance of them being region free? I love Black Sunday. Black Sabbath is amazing, too.

Is Lisa's higher list-price due the inclusion of two cuts? Both showed up in my Gold Box today - hopefully they'll drop another buck or two before release date.

Yeah that is what I was thinking also... I recall first watching that US cut or other film we should say cause it is a 360 compared to the original Italian film!

Also I was watching Annie Hall recently and a theatre in CA was playing the film! It was in the background of one of the CA shots.

Update:

Quote:
One of Mario Bava's finest and most gothic films, The Whip and the Body aka La frusta e il corpo, has just been signed to Redemption and will now be remastered from the original negative and released on Blu-ray. Starring horror legend Christopher Lee as a sadistic nobleman whose main pleasure in life is to whip his sister-in-law, played by the beautiful Daliah Lavi. When the nobleman is murdered his ghost returns and the beatings continue.

Wow!

Just WOW!

'La frusta e il corpo' is by far my favorite Bava. Such a beautiful movie.

I even bought an original gigantic 'quattro-foglio' poster (55x78", 140x200cm) and had it restored:

(Note: the picture has been tilted, but you can see the hands of the two people holding it in the top and bottom. That's how huge it is!)
