That's a nice list of extras! But are these all of the extras, or just the previously unreleased ones?

Does this mean these will be the extended episodes?

That packing is really slim, looks a bit like it's going to be cardboard sleeves...

Could be WB have adopted the Fox 'book' packaging and this set will be presented a bit like Bond 50, with two discs per 'page' for each season.

Our set could be different to that US set. Bond 50 like would be ok. Not good for the shelf space though, hate odd shaped box sets

Not a fan of that box at all!

The image is awkward... It needs a natural photo with them all actually standing next together - not a photoshop job

Loved the previous box image.

I'll wait until this is later re-released in normal case packaging now that my shelf space is at a premium.

I shouldn't have any space problems for the box - after all it has half the discs of the dvd boxset. Has the AR been confirmed yet?

Sounds like a promising set, I agree that the box/packaging is substandard. Much preferred the look of the other set previously posted (New York with a blue tint background). The image on the front of this looks awkward and unnatural.

Trouble is it's thin and long not the greatest of shapes to have on a shelf Since if you have it face on it takes up a lot of shelf space and easily could fall over. Side ways it would be too long and hang over the edge. And it would be too tall to stand on end. I prefer the 15th anniversary Box Set I have to that slim book design just because it's so much easier to shelve.

What I would like to know is why the front is lenticular?

Wut?

But this box reminds me of the ones for releases like 'I Am Legend'. Also by Warner...
Maybe they're creating a similar "Collector's Edition" and then putting all discs into a couple of DigiPaks (2 or 3) maybe with some goodies on top.

But the content seems great. It would be a HUGE upgrade for me from the very barebone DVD-set.
I'm sure it will be available for some time, so I'll be waiting for a price-drop if it's rather expensive.
I know it's a lot of content and probably a nice edition, but that's no excuse to blow a lot of cash at once if it's not a strictly limited edition.
I mean, look at the 'I Am Legend'-box, still available, or at least it still was recently.
Don't think I'll rush on this. XD

Aha, well I only quickly read through everything for now... :P So I thought maybe the image looked "lenticular" or something.
But I'm guessing they're just wanting to make it "fancy" or whatever, just like how they're also dressed up in the image.
I'm guessing that's also the reason why they're overlapping like that and not next to each other like someone mentioned.
Could be nice, I don't see the problem... Wouldn't be as plain as usual at least...

As for other series, as mentioned before, I'd really like to see the other ones in my signature next to 'Friends'.
I can't believe they halfassed the ones in orange. Only release like a single random season in one region/country and that's it. So silly...
Well, at least 'Friends' is coming, finally.

The press release is confusing. Quoting "original broadcast episodes released for the first time in the US" implies that it's the standard 22 minute versions we saw on NBC. Then on the special features list it says: "The Ones With More Friends: The original extended broadcast episodes" again broadcast being the scary word. They're extended from the syndication versions because most syndicated versions are around the 20 minute mark, but they're still not the sometimes 30 minute versions that were on the original DVDs. If this means we're not getting uncut episodes, I'll be miffed.

Can anyone actually confirm what's on the discs?

Well it is a real publicity photo of them together, not a photoshop assemble... but they have cut out the background so I agree it does look a bit plain.

This I'm not sure about. Doesn't bother me really, I'm familiar with the broadcast eps. The press release says:

Quote:
his ultimate collector’s set for the ultimate fan features over 110 hours of content – including all 236 original broadcast episodes released for the first time in the US
Is it me or does that sound like a selling point that they are releasing the broadcast versions 'for the first time in the US' compared to previous releases which have always included the extended versions? Otherwise I don't know what 'first time in the US' is referring to. Friends has been released as a complete set in the US.

But then they're also saying in the special features:

Quote:
The Ones With More Friends: The original extended broadcast episodes
But that might just refer to the odd double-length one that they're included in it's extended version, like the last episode maybe.
