Apparently the Legacy Collection and Anniversary Edition DVDs are all out of print. I wonder if that is a sign that Universal is cramming all of that material into a huge box set. >

Woah where'd all the Creature sets go?! Just my luck, it's the only one I don't have. Amazon seem to have plenty of all the other Legacy sets, all normally priced. Creature can only be got from third party sellers for nearly $100 new!

Wow. That sucks. That's the only way to get the sequels on dvd. Good thing I grabbed my set years ago
I'd say wait for the BD, but who knows if they sequels will get a release. Maybe if we're lucky the major features will have the sequels in SD as a bonus feature, possibly on some represses of the Legacy set discs.

Bullcrap, the film is too slow and uneventful without it!

Not sure why anyone would be worried. If they include the Glass score, there's no way they wouldn't provide the original audio as well. I for one prefer it without it, as nearly all the films of that time did not have running music. The Glass score doesn't really compliment the film. It feels slapped on, with no regard to the actions of the characters and the scene development.

With Dracula the original film is an amazing classic horror film. It is anything but uneventfulband boring. Bela Lugosi, Dwight Frye, and Edward Van Sloan made that film not to mention some amazing imagery. I prefer it without that Glass score but I just never turn that feature on when I watch the movie.

If you have the double features, then why would you need the legacy sets?

The sequels to The Invisible Man and House of Dracula are only available through the Legacy sets.

Right, but I was referring more to the Mummy/Frankenstein/Wolfman films.

I almost bought the legacy sets at the beginning of the year as I've only recently gotten into "classic Hollywood" films, but when I heard about the Blu box I decided to wait for specs before buying the DVDs. Ya never know. Like I said, they could include SD versions of the sequels as special features. We will have to wait and see. I got most of my legacy sets used at Newbury comics for less than 15 bucks a pop. You could likely still find them decently priced if you look around.
Also, the double sided Universal discs are notorious for having issues anyway. I had to exchange my Frankenstein set because of it and my Dracula one has a few issues as is.

In my opinion, Dracula (1931, Lugosi), Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, and Creature from the Black Lagoon are the only "need to have" films in their most upgraded, best format available. The rest are only a "nice to have."

As long as they give us the "need to haves" I'll be happy. Frankly, I am content with having films like House of Frankentein, House of Dracula, and the Mummy sequels as DVD.

If I had it my way, I'd prefer it if all of them get the upgrade. Not just the legacy sets, but all the franchise collections (Lugosi, Karloff, Horror Classics, Hammer etc). But I can pretty much guarantee that the ones you listed as well as the Phantom remake will be included in a box set. It's the same set they sold on DVD 12 years ago.

I would love for the six Legacy sets, The Lugosi Collection, and A&C Meet Frankenstein and The Mummy to get the upgrades.

I never cared for the movies in the Boris Karloff Collection, The Lugosi collection was the much better collection of films.

I just want Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein and The Wolfman but I hope they release all them for those that want them.
