Since it was a TV production from nearly 20 years ago, it's likely that only Standard Definition masters exist. So in all likelihood, there won't be an HD release. Even though much of it was shot on film, it would be a massive undertaking to re-scan and re-edit the entire mini-series again in HD.
Add to that the fact that most of the clips included in the doc came from standard definition sources, and you're just adding to the headaches. They'd have to go track down the original films that the clips came from (and the clips that were originally not film-based wouldn't get an HD upgrade, anyway).
