Basically anyone who had a student card in 2009 for HMV (the last year they gave student discount) has a code that still gives a discount on the site.

A tip: there are some cashback sites... if you use them, f.e. quidco, you'll get 5% back .

It is not a lot, but since there are a lot of releases etc. it might be usefull.
If you buy for 250 GBP (realistic, especially with James Bond boxsets and all the HMV exclusives), you'll get 12,50 back. That is a free Play.com exclusive steelbook .

Thing is though, if you used that site + the code you'd get something like 15% off though. so if anybody would be ok to share their code, i would be grateful

They can't share the code as each was individual to the particular student and linked to that persons account.

This is based upon my recollection of the scheme when I was eligible in he early 2000s, no reason to think it changed. HMV were always very slack with taking off a person's online account as mine lasted for a year after I ceased to be eligible. It did not work past expiry instore as the physical cards had a year expiry date and you had to have the relevant student id card as well which was checked by staff in my local store each time you made a purchase.
