Projector vs HMD

I've seen the personal viewers that simulate an 80 inch screen at the airport, but the Sony is the first one to simulate 150 inches. The thing looks pretty sweet. I'm curious to hear your impressions of it if you get it. My only gripe would be that it looks difficult to take out on the road given the size of the processor box and all of that.

I'm kind of on the fence of whether or not to get it. I wanted a device that would make me feel as though I am in the movie(like sitting four feet from a 160"screen watching a 3d movie.). But apparently it's like sitting in a movie theatre and the screen is far away. I think I'm going to cancel as I don't want another device similar to my already existing 3D projector.

This is why I was wondering if the HMD experience is different from a projector.
