While I understand the need to keep the same title from Season to season so as not to confuse people, I have to admit I'm a little miffed they didn't allude to the title of the second book with season 2.

In fact I don't feel George R.R. Martin is getting as much credit/publicity as he should be. Then again I don't really follow the news that much so maybe he is? The show is good (very good) but the books are absolutely fantastic.

Anyways, just wishing this season was called "A Clash if Kings"

It's just not feasible. You would lose people season to season who wouldn't realize it's the same show (maybe not the die hards, but certainly some would be lost). Plus, after season 2, it's not going to be a book=season adaptation anyway, so it makes since to stick with one title. In my opinion, Game of Thrones is a great title for the whole series (especially as the phrase keeps popping up in the later books).

I would have preferred "Fire and Ice" as it more aptly applies to the true dichotomy that the story is leading to.

I was able to snag the first pressing blu ray edition of S1 on amazon for 45% off. Wanted to get it not only before amazon's stock runs out but so when the (inevitable) complete series comes out, I can switch out the changed disc.

The first pressing for both DVD and Blu is still on amazon for about $46 (shipping included) [blu ray price]. I don't think the best buy exclusives will be redone though.

I was waiting for the inevitable complete series to be released (since I hate having to double dip), but because of the stupid hoopla about a 2 second scene, I wanted to snatch up the unedited version before it goes OOP.

According to tvshowsondvd.com, the second pressing will be available no later than July 9th.

Yeah I agree. A show is only good if a lot of people are killed.

I just noticed that this is labeled 'Discontinued' on Amazon. What's up with that? Does that mean no Lightning Deals or DOTW in the future? Or is this just a sly way of getting people to jump on it? This is the absolute first item on my Wish List, but I'll jump on it today if it is going OOP.

Might be worth reading a few posts above and on the previous page. Only takes abut a minute

But yeah it's being pulled because GW Bushes fake head is on a spike in a scene that lasts about 1 second and you cant even see the face.

So they are editing the scene out of all future releases. So get it now and own a bit of history before it's erased from the records for all of time

Wow, I heard about the Bush 43 controversy but didn't know they were pulling the scene and re-releasing. Good enough reason for me to pick it up Can't wait! I'll probably watch this as much as I watch Band of Brothers

For those interested, here's a screencap of the edited scene from Entertainment Weekly.

It looks like they either did a headswap or photoshop to make the head less recognizable.

Whats even more pathetic is that the set was out for 2-3months and nobody gave a fu*k until the "media" picked up on it... 2-3months late... Must have been a slow news day

I know right? Now the commentary (if that isn't edited to fit the new scene) won't make any sense when that scene comes up.

HBO should have stuck to its guns and said something like "It was an unfortunate coincidence and oversight. We apologize, the producers apologize, we will make sure it won't happen again."

I can't believe that all this work is being done over a 2 second scene that probably 99% of people didn't even notice in the first place.

Finally got around to picking up the blurays, did not see this on HBO and have not read the books. I'm impressed so far. I've seen the first four episodes - trying to only watch 1-2 episodes per week to time it with season two's release.
