I think that boxset will be a hassle to try and get depending on just how limited it is. Then, people will resell it on like eBay for twice the cost.

My thinking though it that it will first be available at SDCC, and then go to wider distribution some time after, probably around the time season three releases individually.

If someone who was going wanted to do a group buy, that's something I'd definitely be interested in.

Red Ranger (Jason) should have been the main bigger character on the cover

So glad someone is finally putting these on DVD. Would prefer BD, but I'll settle for DVD!

We already know they have an HD version of the first movie ready to go as it's aired on StarzHD multiple times.

LOL, the guy who got replaced with the line "Tommy is the new leader now"?

I don't think so. Even a Jason fan has to admit that Tommy made that show what it was.

I grew up with this show. I will definitely purchase it at some point. I am guessing the price will be a little high but oh well.

^^ This. ^^ Tommy was the only Ranger who mattered in the entire series, AND he had the coolest 'Zord. (Geez, that was so nerdy, I feel ashamed just typing it ) Wish they'd release the Mighty Morphin set to Amazon, I have no interest in the other seasons, and it's gonna take FOREVER to get them one volume at a time...

You feel nerdy? Do you want to know how sad and nerdy I feel? I preordered the time life set (with the installment plan) of the first 7 seasons... and I was in 8th grade when MMPR started. So, yeah, I was in 8th grade and in high school watching MMPR. It was cheesey, but still entertaining. If I had been a few years younger when it came out, I'm sure I would have had the toys and everything else.

I started losing interest around zeo/turbo, and aside from a few random episodes here and there (I did somehow manage to see the PR:In Space crossover with Ninja Turtles Next Mutation), I didn't watch it much after that for many years.

A few years ago I did see most of Dino Thunder (which was already a few years old at the time I watched it) on 'Toon Disney, which was interesting due to the inclusion of Tommy. And I've seen a few of the special crossover episodes like Forever Red and that one where random previous rangers, including Adam from MMPR showed up in.

For whatever reason my geeky interest in the rangers kicked back in within the last few years to some degree. I've read up on some stuff, including on when exactly the "Zordon era" ended and the show more or less started having self contained seasons (save for the occasional crossovers and references to past teams). I decided to order the box set since it mainly contains the entire "Zordon era".

I've also watched some of Linkara's reviews of the Power Rangers seasons on Thatguywiththeglasses.com

I've tried watching some of Samuri, but I just can't get into it. A lot of the acting really sucks, even for the relatively low standards of Power Rangers. The fact that Bulk was on it is part of what drew me in, but it wasn't enough to hold my interest.

I did pick up both movies on DVD a few of years back (I did see the original movie in theaters back when it first came out). I had never seen the Turbo movie in full until buying the DVD.

A geeky complaint that I have about the first film on DVD is that they removed "Might Morphin" from the title when it comes up on screen at the start of the film (the box still has the full title on it). I hope if we ever get a Blu-Ray release, that is reinstated. I know that the movies were recently repackaged with new covers on DVD, does anyone know if that version of the first movie includes the full title? Sadly I might consider rebuying it if it does.

I'm not entirely certain if I will buy any more seasons past these. If anything, I may just pick up the sets with any major crossovers with past rangers (particularly from the Zordon era), and probably Dino Thunder.

I stopped watching once the original cast had mostly disappeared. I think sometime between movie 1 & 2, but I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

Bulk is STILL doing Power Rangers?? LOL. (Not to sound mean, but if you had asked me, "Where is Bulk now?", I probably would have said "dead from a heart attack...") I always liked him. He must be 50 by now! Well, good for him. Might have check out a couple eps of Samurai.

I thought around the release of the first movie, there was some sort of controversy about parents thinking that "Morphin" was short for "Morphine" or something, and that the movie was encouraging drug use among kids, and that's why they removed it?? (I could totally be making that up in my head, it's been years...) But it seems like a silly thing to remove from the title card. I just ordered the first movie (repackaged version) from Amazon (it was only $4.99, and I never saw either movie. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it. ) I'll post back tomorrow, with what the title card says.
