You'll lose some of the original frame though. I get it though, it looks a bit awkward with those two little sides that just look easy to zoom in a little

first of all, that's the original.
secondly, you probably won't have to deal with black bars. TLK's trailer was also close to 1.66:1 but we got a 1.78:1 BD

At least it's not as awkward looking as 1.44:1!

Floating windows? I never heard of those. What about academy ratio of 1.37:1?

Then what was that part where the camera switches focus to show the ends detail a little more with the bowler hat and wilbur robinson. By the way I like this site you brought up. Thanks

Then stay away from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Lady and the Tramp, Swiss Family Robinson, Sleeping Beauty, Atlantis, The Black Cauldron, The Great Locomotive Chase, Westward Ho! the Wagons, and every other wide-screen scope film shot by the Disney studios.

I don't know if it's already been posted, but I saw The Rescuer's Down Under on Disney Junior the other day I think? It was definitely the new transfer or whatever, colors popped like crazy, looked really good!

I watched a little of the Aristocats (UK BD). The transfer is very clean but a little soft. I noticed some colour fluctuations which is strange for Disney (a character changes colour in part in a few scenes - notice Toulouse when his mother tucks him in after the Ev'rybody Wants to be a Cat sequence). I will make a comparison between this and the DVD when I have time for anyone interested.

that's means the new transfer was from the CAPS files meaning its a Digital to Digital transfer

Thank you that'll be great! I hope the BD transfer is good (and Disney is even saying is a new one in their official page), I don't want another "so-so" Fox and the Hound transfer from Disney.

Disney has started to upload the Rescuers Clips. I'll post the clips as they upload.
