Thumbs up Should Paramount make a peace offering to us blu-ray customers?

As a blu-ray customer who bought Paramount blu's before they defected last August, I would like to see Paramount offer some kind of rebate (like Disney has done) where if a consumer bought the regular dvd of a title (i.e. previously announced for blu such as SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, ZODIAC, BLADES OF GLORY) or TRANSFORMERS that we consumers could get a rebate off the price of the blu-ray versions. I think that would be a nice way to gain back our business and our confidence.

Any thoughts on this?

Eh, it's business, they dont really owe us anything, it'd be nice, but probably won't happen. In the end its more money from us to them.

I hate the idea of having to cut out upc codes on the movie boxes. It's my collection and proud of it, so I don't want boxes or art work mutilated.

I would have bought Transformers on both anyway. My kids love it, and we would need the DVD for the car. But a rebate would be nice. Of course Paramount is not Disney, and Disney is the absolute king of customer satisfaction.

First time adapter? Hell, no, are you kidding? I had VHS, beta and LD too. Saturday Night Fever was the first Fotomat Drive Thru Movie VHS tape I ever bought. Remember those?

I just really liked upgrade Disney's program with certain titles and thought it would be nice with Paramount. I know it was just business and not personal But unlike Universal, who made their DUD decision from the get-go, I felt very betrayed by Paramount as a consumer as I thought what they did last August was very anti-consumer.

They don't need to do jack $hit, it will sell regardless. Am I hoping for a sale? Hell yeah but they don't owe us anything.

True, and whats funny about that was the fact that it was the only Main title to bring any competition in sales numbers against BD. Still didn't even qualify for the race. Bourne was huge but sold mostly on DVD.

Yes. It's called 'Releasing Blu-Ray Movies'. That's the only peace offering that matters to me.

Movies are a good enough reward.

A nice slate off high quality titles would be good.

Considering Paramount has proven that they are the biggest money *****s in Hollywood, don't expect anything from them.

All they have to do for me is release Stardust. If I have to wait for my favorite movie of the year because they *****'d themselves out it could get very ugly until they do.

Default Transformers for free

Transformers for free to all people who can show a receipt for a BD player prior to their defection.

The best way that they could make this up to BD owners would be by releasing some darned fine titles taking full advantage of the format. If their past releases such as Untouchables and Black rain are anything to go by, then we will be in for some good times.

Hope that release region free like they used to
