You'll be fully refunded what you initially paid for the Blu-ray order. On top of that, you'll have to initially pay for shipping when you ship it back to them (as opposed to them sending you a pre-paid shipping label beforehand), and then they will reimburse you a maximum of 8.09 for shipping (i.e., if it costs you 5.00 to ship it back to them, they'll reimburse you 5.00 for shipping; if it costs you 10.00 to ship it for return, they'll reimburse you 8.09).

Thanks for letting us know. Do you know if it's playable in region c players?

Reading the review, Kenneth Brown certainly rips Home on the Range a new one.. this is one of the most negative reviews I've ever read, but I can't help but agree with most of it.

Also, Disney messed up the video transfer of a digital movie? Seriously Disney? I'm so glad Treasure Planet's good.

That's twice they've done that this year. First Tarzan, now Home on the Range. I just hope that when Lilo and Stitch comes to Blu-ray, Disney will treat it with respect.

Tarzan still hasn't got an American release date and it's such a popular movie. I still find this highly mysterious. What do they have in store for us?

As for Lilo & Stitch, count on it to be treated excellently, it's Disney's most popular and most marketable title post-Renaissance (apart from PatF and Tangled).

Was wondering the same thing. How difficult can it be to do a decent transfer with a digital source?

Doubt it, Treasure planet had a very good release and fans love Lilo and stitch, so they will 100% make it look good. They didn't put any effort in Home on the Range because they know it will fail, once again. Tarzan was not released in the US, it will get a very good transfer, especially since its going to be in theaters (hopefully)

I LOVE THE NEW DISC DESIGNES!!!! I just wish they would swap the title with the type of disc.. These are so much better than the half-CD art.

That's all wishful thinking and speculation but good God I hope you're right.

Does anyone happen to know exactly which Disney/Ghibli blu-rays they have in stock, and/or would be willing to pick up a few for me depending on what the store has? Obviously I'd be fully re-imbursing for the blu-rays as well as having them shipped all together to New Zealand.

PM me if anyone can help out, it would be much appreciated. I really am trying to save money but this is a deal I can't pass up.

I agree with most of the things that Kenneth said about Home on the Range. The only thing that I differ is that is not the worst Disney animated film. That title goes to Chicken Little. Home on the Range is the worst traditionally anmated Disney film.

Also, I was surprised to see that the video was merely decent when other reviewers in hometheaterforum and Dvdizzy gave the transfer a perfect score (not that I care since I won't buy this title but still is confusing ).

Feels like Santa Claus showed up six months early. In the space of 24 hours, thanks to the Costco sale and instant rebates, and Target's sale on Disney Blus, I've now added Toy Story 3-D, Toy Story 3 3-D, Cars 2 3-D, Treasure Planet, and Home on the Range (the only Disney animated feature I didn't already own).

My Cars 2 3-D slip has some minor wear, and there's some sort of tiny plastic piece rattling around inside (haven't opened it yet). Will Disney send me a new slip and a new Blu case if I ask very nicely?

What Target sale on Disney Blus?

Which store did you pick up TP and HOTR?

(Um, probably Target, that's the main place they're being sold.
Probably could find them elsewhere, eg. Amazon and B&N, but sounds like Disney cut an Exclusive deal to leave Best Buy and Wal-Mart out--And like BB's MGM exclusive titles, create more demand for a back-catalogue title without having to press as many.)

...PLEASE.
It keeps sounding like those giggle-worthy discussions of people who had never seen Princess&Frog trying to analyze the box office, and just going down with the ship trying to defend to the death all those clueless analyst columns saying "People didn't like a black princess!"
(You could scream "One week before freakin' Avatar!!" at them until you were Na'vi-blue in the face, and they still didn't want to question the holy sanctity of Hollywood analysts' great social theorizing about the Culture of Racism in America Without Actually Having Seen the Movie... )

Well, the Targets down here in San Antonio are selling Disney Blus for $19.96 or $19.98, can't remember exactly. Cars 2, Lady and the Tramp, Treasure Planet, Home on the Range, etc.

Meanwhile, Costco is selling 3-D and regular Disney blus with an instant $8.00 rebate taken off at the register. If you wanted the Ghibli Blus on a discount, can't see how they're ever going to be cheaper. All of them were there.

Im curious, did u initially buy the standard 2D versions and decided to upgrade to the 3D versions? Or is that the first time you're buying those?

I don't mean, "Eww!", I mean what the hell is it with "Worst ever, let's hunt down the families of those responsible, and execute them with ancient Masonic rituals!"?

Let's remove all the excuses made by those who either avoided it like the plague because of the ads/trailers, or burned it in effigy in the theaters pretending they were burning Eisner instead:
- Yes, it "looks funny".
- Yes, it's broadly comic because they default fell back on "it worked for TENG", when they were trying to figure out what to do with that one
- Yes, Cuba Gooding Jr. is in it. Like Roseanne, he's...actually not as painful as he usually is.
- Yes, they didn't "make more movies like Lilo & Stitch". He's over at Dreamworks now, live with it.
- No, they ultimately didn't "shut down 2D animation forever and ever" with this movie, so you can stop either mourning and cursing Eisner, and/or dancing Riverdance jigs on the movie's box-office grave.
- Yes, it "flopped" in theaters, but probably because Disney was so nervous about the production troubles and discarded storylines, they dumped it in the ignored cannon-fodder spring April of Death slot (right next to The Alamo, and people still get the two movies confused), like they did when they were nervous about Meet the Robinsons. That one didn't do well at the BO for the exact same reason, but I don't hear anyone going into berzerker-mode kill-frenzies about THAT one.

It's basically the Cars 2 of 00's Disney: They didn't give us another Epic, so we all screamed and kicked our feet that they were "wasting our time", and went out to burn down the studio.
It's on video now, and Eisner's gone--All things are equal. This movie could have come out eight years ago or eight months ago, it's still cute. Not great, but not the lazy rib-nudging mess that Brother Bear was, either.
Brother Bear "Lazy"? I don't hate Home on the Range because of all the things you said above. I was 14 when it was released so I didn't even knew who Michael Eisner was or didn't know that it was the last 2D feature (at the time) from Disney. For me it was the latest Disney film and yes I wasn't very enthusiastic with their latest output (I didn't love Lilo & Stitch or Treasure Planet) and the only film that I liked was Brother Bear but Home on the Range was a whole different matter. When I went to see Home on the Range I found it crude, uninspired, with unmemorable characters, unfunny and dull. You say it cute. Really? For me cute can be Robin Hood or The Aristocats but Home on the Range? Not at all. I have re-watched it over the years to see if it has improved with age but unfortunately my first impression still stands. Hadn't Disney gone even further below with the abysmal Chicken Little the following year, this film would have been at the bottom of the canon. It also didn't help that the same year Disney offered Home on the Range, Pixar gave us The Incredibles, a spectacular film.

So even if you want to blame many circumstances for the film's failure, I can tell you that, from a viewer that at that time didn't care for box office, Eisner or 2D vs. 3D, Home on the Range is just plain and simple, a bad film.
