I did use the PS3 as my BD player until I got the Oppo-93. But they are both going through the '805, as well as the Xbox360.

Yeah, I've been fortunate on my bulb. I'll have to look up the hours later to see how many I have on it.

KDS-60A2000 since early 2006, 1 OB changed, original bulb (will have to check the hours, it's been a long time) I use cnet's settings. I really think these sets when set right are still wonderful, great picture. I am in no hurry to change. Feeding it through my Oppo BDP-80, Toshiba HD-A2, Cisco HD PVR all going through my Denon 987. Still great after all these years.

Hey, penta!

Thanks for sharing your experiences in the thread! Boy -- it seems like I'm the only one here with the "tiny, microscopic" 50" SXRD A2020 series, huh? All you playas are runnin' 60 inches and higher...

You too are on the original bulb too, huh? Wow. Perhaps it's because I'm set up in the slightly brighter/hotter Standard picture mode; we're on our second lamp, but no optical block issues as of yet. I hope it stays that way because we cannot afford to get a new display AT ALL any time soon (I thought we were going to be able to upsize to a 70" LCD but that has changed unfortunately).

Your cnet settings have you in Standard mode, do they not?

Oh, yeah, well I meant everyone other than Solar...

How you likin' your 55" size still -- good enough for you? How far do you sit again? I recall you telling me that your girlfriend or fiance mentioned it was like "being at the IMAX" watching your SXRD...

I'm on my 3rd lamp and had 2 OB's replaced! But, I'm still gonna keep this set as long as the OB continues to work and a long as BB is willing to give me another warranty renewal! The lamps are available on Amazon so I'm not worried about that!

I have a KDS50A3000 in my living room and like it alot more than my Sony in my HT room. I am on my 3rd bulb and I just enjoy the picture alot more. I think the rear projection looks more natural, and easier on the eyes.

Thanks for sharing!

First, let me say, based on checking out your gallery -- you have some awesome Trek memorabilia! I'm a Trekkie as well, and have gone to the Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton dozens of times too...what an awesome place, especially the "timeline museum" you walk through upon entering. Really something extraordinary for fans; it's really a shame they shut that down. That hotel has never been the same without the Star Trek Experience -- in fact, it recently changed from a Hilton property to some generic "Las Vegas Hotel" or something like that; from what I understand and have heard, the place sucks.

I remember going into Quark's bar and having the Romulan Ale and shopping in the gift store right next door...wow, that's bringing back memories! That place will be sorely missed...

I hear ya...

There's absolutely nothing wrong with our A2020 model either, it's just that I'd like to get a much bigger sized screen because of our seating distance...

The first part of my sig is my basement HT and the Oppo is listed last. The other equipment listed is players/TVs in other rooms in my house. The PS3 is still with my basement HT and the Sony player you are referring to is in the upstairs living room.

Ahhhh -- okay. I didn't notice the Oppo listed last there! I see it now...

I'm always so amazed when I look at your system and room pics because the setup is so like mine, what with your SXRD snuggled into a wall unit, your Onkyo behind the glass door of a cabinet that's part of the wall unit (ours is on the right side cabinet though), your center speaker on a shelf above the SXRD and the Polk towers to the sides plus sub in the left corner...we have an almost identical setup, save for the fact that my display is ridiculously smaller than yours, my Polk towers (RTi12's in Black Oak) are sitting flush and not toed-in against the wall unit ends and I'm running in-ceiling surrounds...
