Aren't some of the special features only found on DVD or no? If so, then US owners won't be able to play them unless they can definitely play Region 2 discs

I think all of the legacy extras were ported over to the original Blu-rays.

The only extra that has been dropped from the UE discs is "The Hidden Secrets of Harry Potter" from Order of the Phoenix. This is not really a loss because it just recycles a lot of film clips and tries to guess the conclusion (which is irrelevant since the series has concluded).

It depends which movie you're talking about. For instance, I did a check a few days ago (long story as to why I bothered), and not much of what is on the special features DVD discs for 1-4 is on the blu-ray discs of each respective movie. Other than that though, you're right about everything being ported over.

I'll give it a year or two till they turn them all to 3D, then release a new set cost twice as much as this. I know Warner Brothers.

The video featurettes were ported over, and they were presented in a much more user-friendly fashion than the DVD architecture (stupid games and confusing submenus).

Goblet of Fire had some lame games, but they were so unresponsive to my remote control that I could never get far anyway.

Haven't got any of them on BR yet but this is a bit expensive.
Is there another version being released?
What is replacing that standard box set of 2011?

I imported the region free 8 film collection from the UK for a decent price ($56.93). It has the two-disc versions of HBP, DH1, and DH2. It is significantly cheaper than the Wizards collection and I seriously doubt the bonus features you get in that set will be worth what they're charging.

The most logical thing would be yes...I live in Greece and when I ordered sth a bit expensive they asked me the whole world in money....I sent it back and got a refund and had a friend of mine in Burbank send it to me instead....so my suggestion would be to have a friend in UK send it to you or if you dont have one you could always order it via eBay....anything that uses common postal service rather than qourier services...

All I paid was what I quoted: $56.93. I paid nothing at customs. No taxes. The price that's in my email for the order is what I paid. It's worth it compared to what is being charged for the Wizards collection.

arisgow, AreaUnderTheCurve, 5th-beatle and Adam_WM, thank you for the answers, but I guess I didn't expressed myself well though.

What I meant to ask is: if I order the Wizards Collection from UK and have it shipped to the USA, am I to pay any customs when it arrives in the USA ?

I'm aware the store itself wouldn't charge anything other than product and shipping costs, but I'm afraid the American government would.

I have ordered plenty of stuff from Amazon.co.uk and never once paid customs from the UK to Ohio. BUT are you capable of playing PAL/Region 2 DVDs? Just making sure because the Ultimate Edition Bonus Discs for the 1st 4 Potter movies are on DVDs,so the UK set will have them be on PAL/Region 2 DVDs. Only the Bonus Discs for the last 4 Potter movies will be on BDs. So if you want all the extras, wanted to warn you, because its not just the DVD Copies of the actual movies to worry about.

Creating the World of Harry Potter
Part 7: Story

Over the course of ten years, screenwriter Steve Kloves worked tirelessly with author J.K. Rowling to develop her magical books into films. From the beginning, Kloves had to decide what to keep, what to change and what to cut while staying true to Rowling's vision, initially without even knowing how the series ended! Learn the story behind the stories as they sit down together for an intimate, free-flowing conversation.

You can get the barebones 2D 8 movie collection for like $50-60

so is a couple hours of extras and packaging worth $290?
