The question I have, if the doc is exclusive to Sainsburys, will it be on a DVD or BD? If it's on a DVD, I have not a f*** to give.

I've just checked the Sainsbury website the DVD states these are the special features but not for the BD....strange, is it a mistake.

Commentary by Joss Whedon
Assembling the Ultimate Team
A Visual Journey

So at Sainsbury there is a 3D version, 2D version with the 90 min exclusive doc and then the DVD with different extras.

Surely all the extras must be on the 2D version. They don't expect UK customers to buy all three surely, when US customers get it all in one set.

I've also checked Play.com, the DVD extras are the same on there aswell, but the BD doesn't mention these at all!

Their listing for the BD's dont mention the commentary or 'Assembling the Ultimate Team' but they do list 'A Visual Journey', to be honest I wouldn't put too much faith in their product descriptions and I am sure both BD versions will include everything that's on the DVD plus more but only the 2D release is getting the exclusive sleeve and documentary disc.

Of course if it turns out they have dropped the commentary from the UK release and pull a John Carter and downgrade the audio to HR then I will definitely be importing.

Ahh! might have to look into Sainsburys then, I already have the ironman Blus so should be ok on that front

I had an email back from Sainsburys and they said the exclusive discs would be Blu-rays but I wouldn't at all be surprised if they are DVD's.

So because of this whole Sainsburys/ missing extras thing i've ordered 3 different versions of this movie. Steelbook, 3D release and Sainsburys exclusive. All i want is one version, on steelbook in 3D with all the extras!!! Gah!!!

Fortunately the 3D version and the steelbook were ordered with HMV 20% off, but still.

Probably be cheaper to just import the US 3D Target release as that comes with the same exclusive disc.

Not sure if this means much, but the exclusive documentary has been passed by the BBFC as both video and online. Could it be an exclusive on disc, but available to all online? EDIT: just checked it means available through VOD so looks like getting the disc is the only way you will get a copy to keep.

I emailed and asked them, they replied back confirming the order item and price was correct but that they would not be selling any other copies at that price on the website and that if I cancelled I would have to reorder at the current price.

Pretty sure it was just a market share grabbing stunt or human error but meh, cheap blu ray.
