Just letting you know that The Santa Clause trilogy is coming to BD on October 16:

http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/the-s...ollection.html

Also, The Santa Clause and The Santa Clause 2 are going to be released separately:

http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/the-s...l-edition.html

http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/the-santa-clause-2.html

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause has already been released on BD.

I'd pick up The Santa Clause at the right price. I have a lot of nostalgic love for that movie.

Hopefully next year. It's weird, I'm really looking forward to a lot of these live action Disney movies that I probably saw once as a child back in the 80's. It's not like I have fond memories of these films since I barely remember them and yet I really want to see them on blu-ray.

Do you guys think that Disney will give out the coupons for Pocahontas, Aristocats, and The Rescuers? If so, I'll be getting them all the same day.

Most of them should get a $8 or $5 coupon because Amazon got one.

I certainly hope so. I'm asking because they're releasing them all on the same day. August 21st.
Did they offer a coupon for the realse of Treasure Planet or Home on the range ?

"'The Santa Clause' is a pun, referring to the clause in the contract that Tim Allen picks up in the first movie. It is NOT the proper spelling of the name of the beloved holiday character.
I am aware that Disney was making a play on words for the title of the film, and herein resolve to remember that Santa's last name is five letters long, and not six."

And then we can get to work on that "lose"/"loose" thing.)

I would 100% vote to raise my taxes to support an actual grammar police to correct people and knock them on their rears when they made the same mistake again. The English language is not slowly evolving, it is being completely slaughtered. So who can I "aks" about implementing this?

If the "Santa Clause" trilogy is a decent price, I'll get it. Otherwise I'm more than satisfied just picking up the first one. It really is a fantastic film, but the sequels are sorely lacking. They're pleasant but pointless.

To me, the worst is people who write "should of, would of, could of" when it's supposed to be would've, meaning would HAVE, etc.

Just watched the documentary "Waking Sleeping Beauty" directed by Don Hahn. It's a very interesting one although is too short and a little too light in the subject that sparked the Disney Rennaissance in animation. Some issues are addressed as the rivalry between Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzemberg and Roy Disney, the success that Disney Animation had in the late 80s and early 90s and how all came to an end with Frank Wells's death and Katzemberg's resignation. It has great archival footage and you can feel the environment that was felt in Disney Feature Animation at the time and has great in-depth testimonies from many of the individuals involved in this process. What I think was missing was updated interviews with the same individuals so they can offer their thoughts in a more retrospective way but overall is a nicely done and informative documentary.

On another matter, I wish Disney will include these documentaries (Waking Sleeping Beauty, Walt & El Grupo and The Boys: The Sherman Brothers Story) as bonus features in some upcoming BDs. The truth is, that even though they are available in DVD, I don't know how many people have seen them and it will be a nice touch if they are included in films that have some sort of connection with (for example, Waking Sleeping Beauty could be included in The Little Mermaid BD, Walt & El Grupo in Saludos Amigos/The Three Caballeros BD and The Boys in the Mary Poppins BD) so more people could see them and enjoy them.

While I have yet to see Waking Sleeping Beauty, I highly suggest the book Disney War by James B. Stewart (recommended originally by Ernest Rister). I'm almost done reading, and it is absolutely fascinating.

I've already read it (thanks to Ernest Rister's suggestion too) and I agree is an absolutely fascinating, informative, eye-opening and very easy to read book. It comes very highly recommended.

I recommend Waking Sleeping Beauty, it is a very interesting film. They only film that I have not seen out of the recent Disney documentaries is Walt and El Grupo, I haven't gotten past the first half hour. Great content, just poorly organized. Did you know Pocahontas was greenlight because of a potential VHS cover?

I loved Waking Sleeping Beauty, I wish it would get a BD release or even a region 2 DVD. Just finished reading Disney War a couple of weeks ago too, fantastic book but I wish it had gone into more detail on the situation with California Adventure, which it barely mentioned, as my biggest Disney interest is the parks.
