Pulaski was mostly an attempt at placing a McCoy-like doctor on board, but even so she was a stronger personality. I feel Crusher was probably the weakest of the main cast in terms of character development or relative interest. I know this goes against how most fans feel about it, but it's just my opinion.
I agree, I loved Dr. Pulaski and Diana Muldaur is a great actress. I've always felt there was a certain degree of sexism when it comes to most fanboy opinions of Pulaski; let's face it, she wasn't as MILFy as Crusher, and I feel that is mostly why they prefer Crusher over Pulaski. In fact, a lot of Pulaski's personality traits were transferred to Crusher when she came back, and everyone liked her better than when she was in season one. And aside from her transporter phobia, Pulaski really wasn't all that much like McCoy. She was a lot less racist for starters too.
