Great movie but the Special effects don't hold up. They should do them again for the blu ray.

Take that scus bucket.

Very good film, I was considering ordering the German release. I watched this at least twice as a kid then I wanted to watch it again but didn't know the name of it. I finally found out what it was called again last year.

How come it's not released by Disney?

Because Disney only has the distribution rights for the US.

Technically it's a Producers Sales Organization title, not a Disney title. In Japan, King Records released it on BD; Splendid Entertainment did the same in Germany.

Normally I'd say that I'd hold out for the US release, but we all know that Disney doesn't release many old live-action films on BD. Hopefully the UK release will be region-free, as the German one is B-locked, and I'm not about to pay the $50+ required for the Region-A Japanese release.

I would imagine that this upcoming European Release of Flight of The Navigator will be Region-Free.

I have my doubts about that as their other titles have been region locked.

On second thoughts you could be right.

Another SecondSight release...Return of The Living Dead (Steelbook) is actually Region B locked, so this could end up the same.

I would sell it while you can & recoup some profit! The price will plummet when the Blu Ray is released. You can buy the odd OOP DVD on ebay for under £10 but second hand!

I like the fact that both links take you to Play.com

Do you work for them??

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

Got my pre-order in. I haven't watched this for ages. Just need Short Circuit to go up next. Those two films along with Labyrinth, Weird Science and War Games are the films of my childhood

Disney only own half of this...kinda. They aquired it mid-production after the production company folded.

I have heard conflicting info on the true AR of this movie.

Some say 1.85:1 while some swear they've seen a 2.35:1 version.
