Ha ha! I'd love to get blus of SSSSSS and The Boy Who Cried Werewolf! The double-feature of those two was the first time I was allowed to go to the theater by myself. It was my birthday and Grandma didn't want to have to sit through those two.

Dracula
I'd go crazy for the 1979 Dracula from Universal starring Frank Langella.

I also noticed in the catalog that the Scream Factory titles don't go beyond THEY LIVE and PHANTASM II in November. There seems to be NO Scream Factory releases for December, which means DEADLY BLESSING and the double feature THE ISLAND/ DEATH VALLEY are 2013 releases, perhaps, January.
So I'm guessing this means no THE ISLAND in HD then?

Bummer....

I can't wait for this and Halloween 3 to come out. Scream Factory's starting off on the right pace, with They Live, Phantasm 2, The Funhouse etc announced, who know's what else they'll release. If they treat each release the way they're releasing the current list of films coming out soon, I'll buy them when they're released!

I am really enjoying the covers to Halloween 2 and 3 as well, Nathan did an amazing job on the artwork!

He directed one of my personal favorites, Hide & Go Shriek. It never made it to region 1 DVD, I've still got it on Unrated VHS.

Should be interesting to hear what he has to say. I believe he is a producer on The Walking Dead now.

is the transfer giong to be any different then the "fixed" Universal disc? from my understanding Shout is just adding the TV version and a whole bunch of features with the same encoding or disc Universal put out?

It is not a new transfer. It is the same master of the previous release and it will be further cleaned up. No DNR though.

Great breaking news to report to you fans of DEATH VALLEY & THE ISLAND:

Originally, these two cult favorites were to be combined together as a double feature on DVD only but that has now changed. They will now be split up and released separately as a DVD & Blu-ray combo to appease fans of both formats. We will also be using the original theatrical key art for our covers. Stay tuned for more details on an official street date...

Although putting both on one disc might preclude them from including extras, if any are/were planned.

I much rather have The Island and Death Valley released by themselves on BLU. Esp since Shout has been doing retro cover art for their Scream Factory films. I still detest the WB double feature packs UGLY as anything I've ever seen. Although these titles honestly shouldn't have a retail price higher than $24.99 each.

The double feature was going to be just DVD, no Blu-Ray release for either film. If you meant they could have just released both as a double feature Blu-Ray then I misunderstood.

As long as they're coming to Blu, I would have been content with either a double feature Blu or individual releases. It's nice to know that some companies actually do listen to the fans and just don't dismiss us while taking our money.

Way to go Shout/Scream Factory, way to go!!

I can't even imagine how nice The Island will look. I only watched the movie once and it was a old beat up VHS tape. It will be like watching it again for the first time.

I'm wondering if their reason for originally going DVD-only was that the available materials weren't good enough to warrant a Blu-ray, and if that situation has changed somehow.
