I called and put posts on Charter's official support forum. They will have no 3D broadcast channel, nor any 3D on demand. -sigh-

Here in the UK, as well as the BBC, which has a dedicated 3D Olympic Channel amongst 23 other dedicated HD Olympic Channels (just a wee bit of overkill!), you can also view it in 3D on ESPN through Sky.

In fact, I just got an email from Sky saying their 3D channel is free till 20 August to allow Sky users to try it out, so if you have Sky that's pretty neat.

Well that sucks. I was really looking forward to some 3D Olympics when they announced it a few week ago.

Yes...I almost missed it as it wasn't advertised much amongst all the Olympic trailers.

I thought they got the 3D separation spot on. The 3D had a nice depth and really made you feel in the middle of the ceremony. The continual swapping to 2D cameras and 2D footage spoiled it a bit, but you can't have everything I guess and overall I was impressed. Much better than the 3D seen during Wimbledon.

Even though I'm not a big Olympics fan, I'll be tuning into the 11pm 3D highlights for at least the first few nights.

The audio was wrecked by the banal commentary again....do we really need to be told that a drummer plays.....drums? Dreadful

Well we're I am, Comcast isn't putting the 3D channel on. We couldn't find it and so my husband called them. It's not available in our area. WTF?!

The ceremony was freakin' awesome and I'm sure will look fantastic in 3D.
