Default If you explain how.

I'm glad you like them.

Im a noob to all this forum stuff I had to look up how to post the pictures. What would be the best way to put up usable versions of the artwork? Spines do make the difference. I heat them up with a hair dryer then slide a sharp craft knife down the back then clean off all the sticky stuff from the metal and the case with a sticky stuff remover then use double sided tape to stick the artwork to the metal and then to the case.

Putting them in boiled water also works but you have have dry the case off so it adds time to the whole procedure.

Which ones would you like usable images of?

Default How To: Custom Inner-Art for Steebooks

I'm no artist, and I don't have any photo or design software. I have a basic All-In-One HP Printer, but would like to print some inner-artwork for a few steelbooks I've recently purchased. I know there's a thread to show art, but I was hoping someone who would like to help me out, send me or post a full-size image of inner-art for "Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight", and "The Dark Knight Rises" (For The Future.), and "The Last Samurai" and let me know what dimensions exactly to print them at?

Soak it in hot soapy water for 10 mins, then use a knife to slowly work the glue off. I then re-use the glue for sticking the artwork and spine back together, letting the plastic dry off before assembling.

In addition to the Catwoman one I posted earlier, here's another I made for the future release of The Dark Knight Rises.

@THS - I have some inner artwork for Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Last Samurai in the following Imageshack folder. They are high-res and best printed on 8.5x14 glossy photo paper if you are including the spine.

So as promised, I took some pics when doing my last spine work, and here they are ..

After you have cutted the glue using the card (as thin as possible), you will have some glue left on the plastic spine and on the metal piece like this :

Then use your magic finger ... and remove most of the glue on the metal piece, and completely remove the glue on the plastic part like that :

... and to perfectly clean the plastic, you can use some alcohool ... at the end it must be perfectly translucid as shown on the following picture :

Then put the glue on the plastic part .. and spread it using your magic finger again (you must keep the plastic part as translucid as possible) ... and put your artwork ..

Then add some glue on the back of the artwork and on the back of the metal piece, and put it on the spine. To finish the job, put the Steel on his spine on a table and leave it like that for 10-15 minutes .

and here is the result :

Hope this help .

Cheers.
Steph.
Thanks a lot for this mate! I've got the French Shutter Island Steelbook but the spine is upside down, if I remove the spine like you've shown, can I put the spine back on the other way around to make it right?
