"Today, an updated version of the ’50 Greatest Harry Potter Moments’ was aired in the UK. It saw the inclusion of scenes from the final two films and a running commentary from Robbie Coltrane. You may remember that this special originally aired in July, but did not include anything from Part 2. The full list can be seen below. Particular moments of incidence are, in my opinion; No. 2, which is the final duel between Harry and Lord Voldemort, taken from Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and No. 47, which included interesting insight from JK Rowling, wherein she mentioned how she had felt when first seeing the real-life Mirror of Erised: “I remember turning and looking into the Mirror and seeing myself: a published author, in a British Film Studio, where my books were being adapted to films… It sent a shiver down my spine”. 50. The First Meeting Between the Trio on the Train –Philosopher’s Stone 49. The First Glimpse of the Ministry of Magic – Order of the Phoenix 48. Ron’s Howler – Chamber of Secrets 47. Well, those people will miss the great 86 minutes documentary, "When Harry Left Hogwarts". Made by an BAFTA-award winner documentary maker. Along with some other documentaries. It's not all about that TV-special. The most important documentaries of the bonus disc are: "When Harry Left Hogwarts" (86 minutes) and "Designing the world of harry potter" (23 minutes). The shorter version is fantastic. An extended cut isn't reason enough to buy the whole enchilada, but I sure am looking forward to it. If folks want to watch the short version without dropping a few hundred simoleans, they can buy the Target Blu-ray of 7.2 or import the regular UK Blu-ray.

I have to admit, that box set looks attractive. I have the Limited Edition box set from the UK that came out last December. I figured that would be enough. But, that thing looks like a beauty. Considers..... |

Am I disappointed the extended cuts aren't included? Yeah, a bit. That already came into play back when the third and fourth Ultimate Editions came out (which I refused to buy as a result.) The Amazon backlash makes for an entertaining read in that regard ![]() I'm all for the fancy packaging and the extras sound great; I've never seen "When Harry Left Hogwarts" and the extended version sounds intriguing. I suppose down the line I'll give in, once the price has settled. |

I have never bought any potter DVDs or blu rays. When the first movie came out I told myself I would wait until a collection was released such as this.
I just wish the box was not that huge... I'll probably order one soon though.. Seeing as though this set is "limited" what happens when they eventually run out? Maybe then they would do a disk only version? |
