Talking God Of War 3 On Ps3 With 1080p, Sixaxis And Rumble Support

great, this is certainly news we have been wanting to know and i guess it finally does confirm that vibration is coming back to the PS3.

I'd expect all the other big hitters like MGS4, Devil May Cry and Resident Evil to be among the many upcoming titles that hopefully should and probably will suport rumble.

Heres the link to the information about God of War 3 with 1080p visuals and support for both sixaxis and rumble:

I'll see if Phil Harrison has anything to say on the matter this evening at 3Rooms (ThreeSpeech event) in London.

Until we actually see god of war 3 in 1080p, ill be doubtful. I find it more likely that it will be 720 and upscaled to the higher rez once they get the scaler turned on.
There was an interview with tecmo who are developing ninja gaigen sigma, and they know they are going with 720, saying that they believe 1080 is turning into a buzzword with very little substance behind it for that type of game. They are known for making the most beautiful looking games ever. dead of alive series, and ninja gaiden for the xbox.

I would take lower rez if it meant a stable framerate. If they get the scaler working it will be great as well.

I think God Of War 3 could very well end up being a native 1080p title. Its still a ways away, and you know the GOW team is very capable when it comes to sony hardware. I am sure they have access to any info and tools possible when it comes to the ps2/ps3, so if anyone can pull it off, it will be them. The thought of Co-Op online GOW3 is just insanity. Would be amazing.

I'm more interested on the possibility that Final Fantasy 13 being a native 1080p game (or will at least support 1080p officially).

That has more fanbase and more potential revenue than God of War.

Have you played Ridge Racer 7, NBA 07 or Tekken 5? All those games are in full 1080p resolution at 60 fps. I'm sure that the God of War team will be able to come up with full 1080p support at a solid framerate... I haven't seen any games that is upconverted to 1080p, I'm not fond of upconversion. It confuses people, games should be be played at their native resolution.

If FFXIII is in 1080p, oh man I'll be in heaven

I would say it is about the same these days, especially after the disaster that was FFIX, FFX and FFX-2. I know I had reservations about plunging £30 into FFXII, happy I did now, but some people won't get over the those three.

No offense, but those games are not exactly as graphically demanding as, say FFXIII or MGS4 will be. Tekken 5 is the same as the PS2 one, just running in 1080p. Now it's not like I don't have faith in Squarenix and Konami to make FFXIII and MGS4 respectively native 1080p games, but I wouldn't hold my breath either.

If MGS4 is going to be on a 50GB BD, according to reports, it would almost have to be 1080p.

I see.

But after seeing the trailer, this may indeed be worthy of being my first Final Fantasy game EVER!!! If this game gets the promised 1080p (native or official support), Sixaxis motion control and Rumble Support, then all eyes will be on this title. (even to gamers who don't play consoles)

I'm not a console fan per se (95% I play at video aracades/FECs) but even if one is not a console addict (or a console player), the word "Final Fantasy" already rings a bell in their minds.

On popularity and in revenue (stand-alone and/or combined), FF still has better franchise.

Heck, I don't even know what God of War is about. . If I myself don't know it, then what more would the other non-console gamers and ordinary casuals even know that GOW has another meaning other than "Gears of War"?

The reason you know about FF is that there have been many, many games where as GoW only has one, two now. It doesn't have the history of FF, but it is an awesome game and GoW 3 on the PS3 will kick ass.

wow... I thought FFX and X-2 was awesome. I still like turned based rpgs i guess..

GOW will always be God of War. Gears of War came second and can be GeOW.

If you havent played god of war, go buy it now. It in the greatest hits and is good enough to warrant a purchase.

God of War II (PAL/UK) arrived in the post this morning and I can confirm that it runs SUPERBLY on the Euro PS3. I haven't even noticed the tearing that video footage of the game running on PS2 has. That's only from one level's play though. Haven't tried the 'high-res' code yet.

The PAL version doesn't have the high-res code because they pushed the PS2 harder for the PAL version to get it running at 576p instead of the NTSC standard 480i. So even in 'HD mode' in the US it will still look worse than the PAL version.

It is one of the reasons that there was a delay in bringing the game out in Europe.
