It took Dyn just over 2 yrs to develop the drivers for the Excite line.

yeah, its tough to compare the two on a you tube video, every speaker will compromise somewhere. You probably need to do what I did with the rDAC and just live with the 110s for a month without switching back and forth and then seeing how your perception changes or stays the same.

Just tried out the S1's as I had never listened to music with the new v3's, I know if I didn't do it now they'd go back downstairs to surround duty and who knows when I'd have the motivation to use them for music again. They'll be going back down on the weekend.

Not going to sell gear anymore, my HT system doesn't really need anything else. Now I'll just buy gear that interests me and rotate it where/when I can. At this point in time the only way I would ever possibly get rid of the 110's would be to trade them in towards some 160's. A surround system is planned so I doubt that'll happen, don't need two pairs of 160's. The place I bought them from has a trade up program which is nice, something no stores have around here.

That's why I'd like to start a collection, lots of good choices that I'd like to be able to listen at home. I could probably own 10 different pairs, as I'm sure you could as well.

That's my thought as well, scouring the used market for bookshelves, the price has got to be right though. I don't have room to house or store multiple pairs of tower speakers.

My Star Tracks vid you can hear a little bass, nothing like being in room though. As you know some parts of that tune will test speakers woofers pretty good.

i think i got away with it being decently loud, I turned it up right at the 40 second mark, we'll see how this comes thru.

yeah, when that song hits, it can hit, and with a good IA or power amp, theres some serious slam that can occur. however its as much about the speakers as the amps ability to deliver good bass, the MF M3i was great, but didnt produce the bass drive the Naim can. thats were the MF fell a little short for me, otherwise it was great.

I recorded the very end and turned it up kinda loud for 10:45. Ill post both in the morning... see how it comes thru.
