I still dont understand the claim the HDDVD discs were cheaper than Blu-ray discs. It was never true.o_O

They were cheaper to produce, but that never materialized to consumers.

Thats because HD DVD had to make money somewhere. They sold their players so damn cheap that they had to charge a higher price most of the time just to make some money.
