Hey MikeyHitchFan, I am a great fan of Hitchcock movies. I like the all the movies listed there and i have watched all his movies, sparing few on the list. But my question to you is would it make any difference to watch Hitchcock movies in the original print and in Blue Ray? Because most of his movies are in black and white and will it change the picture quality in Blue Ray?

What does being in black and white have to do with the resolution of the picture? Blu-Ray is still HD whether it's B&W or not.

Im kind of amazed a Criterion rep would openly say a movie they are releasing in 2013. I mean its great and all but how often do they let the cat out of the bag like that ? I really hope the Man who knew too Much 1934 is a fact and not a false hope

I'm not surprised at all. Although their e-mail replies have been info-lite, they give out quite much in interviews and Q&A sessions; send out hints with their monthly newsletter, New Year artcard; screen unannounced films at ATP festival and they have loads of unannounced films on their Hulu channel, including Hitchcock's Foreign Correspondent.

No news, but I would guess that Fox will release it here along with The Paradine Case. They still own those two, and already released the other three titles this year. Of course, you never know what Criterion might do.

One of 4 Hitchcock - David O. Selznick productions. The other 3 released on blu-ray by Fox are Rebecca, Spellbound and Notorious. The latest DVD collection by MGM/Fox called The Premiere Collection had these 4 + Lifeboat, Young and Innocent, The Lodger & Sabotage. Anchor Bay had the 4 titles a long time ago.

There seems to be a release of Lifeboat in Germany coming Dec 17 from Warner. Nothing listed about region code. Would be nice for U.S. if it's region free.

It's released by Concorde Video, nothing to do with Warner.

Never saw this Hitch movie. Is it worth the buy and how does it compare to the Jimmy Stewart release (never saw either one)?

They are both very good in their own way. The British version is faster paced, while the American remake is better dramatically, but also a bit too long IMO.

Review is up..looks great! https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-M.../57780/#Review
