@THS - I have some inner artwork for Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Last Samurai in the following Imageshack folder. They are high-res and best printed on 8.5x14 glossy photo paper if you are including the spine.

Wow - that's just awsome work. Thanks so much - I just picked up Batman Begins from Best Buy for $5 (with the DVD trade-in), so I figured I had nothing to lose if I tried to add artwork. The soapy water worked great for removing the spine & your artwork was sized perfectly.

I think it looks great - thanks again!

If you want to print the whole thing on 1 sheet without resizing, you need 8.5x14 photo paper which is hard to find in stores. I had to order some from a website in Canada. If you are not doing spines or you plan on printing spines on their own separate paper, then you can pick up some 8.5x11 photo paper. I ordered a 100 pack of Kodak glossy photo paper off Amazon for $13.99. It's within that price range in stores but depending on name brand or heavier weight might cost closer to $18-20.

Thanks mate! I am looking to do spines as well.

But don't know how to do that with 1 sheet?

That's really odd because over here in the UK we get A4 photo paper really easily (it's the most common format) in both physical stores and online.

I can find A4 paper over here just not the kind that would be good for steelbooks. The only A4 paper I can find in the states is regular ole printer paper. Wish A4 photo glossy paper was common over here. At the moment, I have to order it from Canada.

If you are doing spines, there is no way to fit the whole artwork on a single piece of 8.5x11 without choosing the fit to page printing option. If you do that however, it will shrink the size of the artwork and it will be too small to fit into the steel. The only way to avoid that is my using bigger paper such as 8.5x14 or using 2 sheets of 8.5x11 paper.

I could be wrong. I'm going to run a test on an 8.5x11 paper to make sure. If it doesn't fit the steel, I'll let you know.

Have you ever tested the print quality on glossy type photo paper? I'm not really sure what printers are best. I just use what I have. I own a Canon PIXMA MG5220 with a 5 ink cartridge delivery system. It prints pretty nice glossy photos. If your printer prints decent glossy photos, then I would just suggest using it.

So here is a question. I know this topic is about blank steelbooks, but I was wondering about steelbooks that already have art in them. Is the art printed on the metal of the spine itself or is it some paper that is glued in and then the metal spine is put over it?

The inner artwork is printed directly on the steelbook itself. The same for the spine as well.

Thanks moon for all the help you provided me!

If I want to do the spine, what exact size you reckon will work? Sorry if I am repeating questions, but want to make sure.

Is it possible to have the spine connected to the right side photo or does it have to be seperate?

This is my first attempt,i ordered 7x5 and they weren't big enough across ways ,also the spine didn't line up to the left and right images properly. Are you able to put the spine image under the plastic?

Create a word document without margins and put in the image, then print out
