WOW!

That French coffin set is eye candy! If we get confirmation that the UK coffin set has the same internal content (BDs book + artcards), I am getting it.

As a precaution, I will pre-order it today which means I will have BOTH UK Universal Monsters editions preordered. I will cancel one of them as we get closer to shipping date.

Actually that DOES look nice. Damn. Buying discs is so complicated these days with all the exclusives and packaging/price variations. I've got two orders of lots of different discs right now - for AVENGERS I've got three! I just know I'm going to forget to cancel something.

Chip has hit upon a truly excellent idea here, easily the best solution to this disagreement!

I'm in the US, and I know this is Universal which is pretty much always Region-Free, however does anyone think there would be any issues with importing this to the US?

I would really like the coffin set as it is just a bit more a frickin awesome. It says it is limited, does anyone know how limited? Also is UK Blu-ray 3D compatable with everything 3D in the US?

None at all, I've imported several Blu-rays to the US form Amazon.UK and most of them arrived amazingly fast. Only had one that took a while and never showed-up, but Amazon.UK sent out a replacement quickly with no hassle when I told them it never arrived. Shipping is also pretty cheap as well.

The UK coffin in pictures looks a lot shallower than the French coffin, so the inner packaging or at least the orientation may be different.

I sent an E-mail to Universal Home Video UK and within an hour they responded with this...

"Dear Adriel,

Thank you for your e-mail.

We can confirm it will be region free.

Kind regards
Universal UK"

This is great news for those of us in the US who would like to own this nice coffin set! And now that it has been confirmed that the spanish Drácula is included, I'm even more excited!

So far out of the 2 set from the UK and the one from the USA I like the Limited Edition Coffin set the best.

I am going to guess that this Limited Edition Coffin the same 44 page booklet and 8 exclusive art cards with original theatrical posters that the standard UK set has as well as the same disc? Also has for the USA set does that have the same disc with the same bonus stuff as the 2 UK sets?

I looked at the USA set and I did not see anything about a 44 page booklet and 8 exclusive art cards with original theatrical posters and that is why I think I like the 2 UK sets better. Out of the 2 UK sets I like the idea of the Limited Edition Coffin.

One more thing does anyone have an email address to Universal UK and Universal USA? An email address that would be good to contact them about these different sets?

From all of these Classic Monsters Blu-ray sets the UK Limited Edition Coffin set seems to be the best.

I contacted Universal simply to ask if it was region free, which it is. Just Google "Universal Home Entertainment Contact Information".

Thank You. I did pre-order it as I think this will be the edition that I like the best. I can always cancel it if I want to get another edition. Anyways Universal UK sent me a list of bonus stuff and I compared it to what was posted here on Blu-ray.com for the USA set. For the most part they are the same but I saw one bonus from the UK set that I did not see listed on the USA set. Also the USA set seems to have 2 audio commentaries for Dracula while I only saw one of those commentaries listed for the USA set. I really like the idea of a Limited Edition Coffin so I think I still want to get that edition even if it does not have that commentary. I might could get that commentary by just getting another copy of the movie on Blu-ray or getting an old dvd copy of the movie. But I would wait to see if it's allready on the Limited Edition Coffin set.

The discs will be identical. Any missing extras in the press release are a mistake. The big four will carry over everything from the 2-disc dvd sets while the minor four with retain all their 1-disc dvd features, plus those new exclusive vignettes on each disc.

Using the code T15OFF25 you can pre-order the coffin set from Tesco for about £38/39 - cheapest yet, I believe.

Hello... I searched all the thread and I believe this picture hasn't been shown yet... I believe this is the UK version. And it seems that the UK "regular" edition will be in a digipack. But im not sure if the digipack will be inside the coffin... Either way this picture is really impressive...

Pretty sure the Digipack will slot perfectly into the middle of the Coffin, with the art cards either side.

Or you know, it could be something else. ;D

The above picture seems to imply that the contents of both boxes are exactly the same?

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. So the box set is the same, however one comes with a coffin to put it in as well as a couple cards.

To me, the few bucks more is worth it, plus it looks awesome.

Wouldn't it be nice if they just used the same packaging everywhere so we didn't have to fret about what we might be missing?

The French coffin set looks better than the UK one, but it seems silly to buy it when it'll be more expensive and the book'll be in French....

I contacted Amazon France about the book and received the following email:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Amazon.fr.

After having researched the item "Coffret Monsters - 8 films [Blu-ray]" and it's details, I confirm you that the book that is included with the coffin is in English.

Please note that the technical details are available on the DVD details page (under "Détails sur le produit"). This will give you all the information on the DVD of your choice.

We do appreciate that sometimes the amount of information we display may make it difficult to make a purchasing decision unless you already know something about the item. Our editorial staff are constantly working on increasing the information we provide about each item as it becomes available to us.

Thank you for choosing Amazon.fr.

I already have the France Coffin version preordered.
