Last night’s edition was second most watched episode of Hard Knocks since 2002, with 984,000 viewers.

I'm already tired of hearing about the nfl this year. I need to get my DVR back so I can fast forward through it.

I hope he catches on somewhere else although it seems like he's mentally challenged, and unable to learn a playbook

Yeah, I think Chad's lack of learning an offense is going to keep him from finding a new team more than his arrest and personality. Last year he couldn't learn New England's offense, and this year he couldn't learn Miami's offense. It's unlikely a team is going to bring him in now with less than 3 weeks before the season begins because it's unlikely he'd be able to learn the offense that quick. Jacksonville would actually be the best landing spot for Johnson, as their offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski was the OC in Cincinnati for 10 years, but they showed no interest in Johnson when he was a free agent and there's no reason to think they'd be interested now.

I forget what show I heard this on, but someone claimed that a 'source' told him that the Bengals had to dumb down their offense for Johnson.

Cablevision just signed a deal to get NFLN & Redzone.

Time Warner & Brighthouse now only major carriers without so gotta figure pressure is really on then to sign as well.

I've heard that a lot over the years. They also said that a lot of the time T.J. Houshmandzadeh would have to tell Chad where to line up and what route he had to run because Chad would forget. Chad was such a great receiver when he was younger that the Bengals had no choice but to do whatever it took to help Chad, but with his diminished skill and legal issues there's no reason for another team to pick him up.

Mike Wilbon (ESPN employee) was complaining on the Scott Van Pelt Show (ESPN Radio) today about how much coverage that ESPN has given the Jets. He said he travels a lot and nobody outside of New York cares about the Jets and that ESPN should stop focusing on them. He also complained about how much time ESPN is spending on the Red Sox.

That's one reason I love Wilbon. He knows ESPN would never fire or discipline him so he says what he thinks. He's the only ESPN employee that is allowed to go on the Dan Patrick Show because management won't do anything to stop him.

Wilbon is from chicago so he has east coast bias envy.

I wonder if he knows the most watched hard knocks episode ever was the jets finale 2 yrs ago.

The nets talk about the draws same reason lakers/lebron are on abc every sunday during bb season.

This kid just needs to bide his time and in 2 years he'll make a great high school lineman.

A Texas Pee Wee football league has ruled that a 300-pound seventh-grader is too big to play, according to Dallas-Fort Worth television station KDFW Fox 4's website.

Elijah Earnhardt, 12, was informed this past weekend by the Mesquite Pee Wee Football Association that he has been barred from playing in the league, according to the report posted on MyFoxDFW.com.

The league's rule is that any seventh-grader weighing more than 135 pounds is barred and must play in his school's league, according to the report.

But Earnhardt and his mother, Cindy, told the website that they still are pushing for admission into the league.

"I don't want to play in school right now because it's people that's had experience and I want to get some experience first and then start playing," Elijah Earnhardt told the website. "I just want to play because my teammates are my friends -- I know them. I don't want to go play for somebody else I don't know."

Cindy Earnhardt told MyFoxDFW.com that she plans to protest the league's decision.

"For him to come home and just cry and go to his room and say, 'I give up,' I'm not going to let him give up," she said. "This is his dream. This is what he wants to do. And I'm going to make it happen."

Elijah Earnhardt's coach, Marc Wright, also will protest the decision, according to the report. He cited multiple players within the league who are over the 135-pound limit.

"If they're over 135, they have to wear a symbol on their helmet, which is the X," Wright told the website. "So if they're an X-man they have to play offensive line, defensive line only."

Mesquite Pee Wee Football Association president Ronnie Henderson told the website that he sympathizes with Earnhardt but maintained that they must adhere to the league's rule.

"The coach over there should have known this," Henderson said. "He's been told this. He's been to our meetings. He knows this. I don't know where the misunderstanding was. We hate it. I don't like it for the kid or the parents."
