After DIAMOND NECKLACE , another malayalam film coming in bluray

USTHAD HOTEL directed by Anwer raheed ,written by anjali menon & features Dulquar salmaan,Nithya menon &Thilakan in lead roles.Now the film successfully running in theatres.
MOVIE CHANNEL confirm the bluray release of this film along dvd release(expected on this oct).
MRP :in range of 500-600/-

Good to know that one of the best malayalam films of this year (in terms of style as well as substance) is getting a BD release, along with Ordinary. Many excellent movies from the past couple of years (Traffic, salt n pepper, 22FK..etc) have yet to come out on BD, though...

if the bluray sale of ORDINARY and USTHAD HOTEL success for the company, then We can expect more releases GRANDMASTER,THATTATHIN MARAYATHU blurays are on the way, they'll release it depending on ordinary's bluray sale.

Malayalam Blu Rays are very expensive, they need to reduce the price. I was wondering, why Moserbaer didnt release Urumi on BD.

Ordinary & Ustad hotel bluray should be priced @ MRP:500-600 range!

Plus the companies have been totally senseless in their selection of movies for BD mastering... Pazhassiraja & Pranchiyettan were good choices, but why 2 harihar nagar, karyasthan, pokkiriraja & marykkundoru kunjaadu?

Here's hoping that Movie Channel will shine the light right at the face of MB and AP...

Now, HARMONY videos also going to the track of movie channel.Their GRANDMASTER Bluray's test work is compleated.they'll release this on BD depending on the sale of ORDINARY BD.

@Ashik786 - is there demand for Mallu movies on BD? I had not seen any at the Reliance Music-Video shop in Oberon mall (Kochi) when I was there recently. But then again I was not looking too hard for it.

I was quite impressed by some recent DVD's I purchased. Like 22FK was a very decent transfer. A year ago I had picked up Pranchiyettan and Arabi Katha on DVD and they were not even anamorphic widescreen. That was quite disappointing!

ORDINARY DVD was awesome,its d one of the finest mal dvd released till now.one and only problem was logo and watermark!

thats good to know. I have rented it thru an online rental here and waiting for delivery. Looking forward to seeing it, I hear its a good movie.

movie just above avg ,i'll rate it 3.25/5 ,that's all! But this avg film makes 100days of theatrical run.main attraction of this film is Gavi.but i'll give 4.25/5 for usthad hotel.

Ashik, I was quite disappointed with Ordinary. A very ordinary movie (pun intended) but the transfer was okay. The logo and watermark were obnoxious, but then again I have come to expect that of all Indian movies now

How are the DVD transfers of India Rupee and Salt-N-Pepper? I don't own the movie but would like to if the transfers are good. I thought 22FK was a good transfer.

Don't know abt ordinary, but 22fk was shot with red one (hence, the high quality picture on dvd itself), and that quality should translate very well onto the BD (if a BD release happens, that is)
