The "bath salt" stuff is crazy too. Just look on Youtube about that lady in a small town in NY. She ran around randomly attacking people naked with her kid in her arms. She got tasered by police and died. That stuff is everywhere. Last edited by ChadFL; 08-18-2012 at 03:48 AM. |

As usual I think the AP poll gets it right.
1. USC 2. Alabama 3. LSU 4. Oklahoma 5. Oregon USC has 25 1st place votes, Alabama 17, LSU 16, Oklahoma 1, Michigan 1. USC is the number 1 by a decent margin, unlike the Coaches poll. |

That's how Florida's schedule is half the time. The only non-conference road game they ever play is at Florida State, so every other year they have all their non-conference games at home. The last time Florida played a non-conference game outside the state of Florida was in 1991.

BTW, every major/big time school has a school like this. Almost every team usually plays 8 conference games - 4 home/4 road and then depending on your non-con schedule you may play another road game. So the most a team like Ohio St or teams in the SEC, Pac 12, etc are going to play is 5 road games a year. Get over it it's the nature of college football. ![]() EDIT - These are your 4 non conference games for 2012, all at home. UCF, Cal, UAB, Miami (Ohio). Not even one quality opponent? I'm a UCF grad and even I'm not going to pretend we're good. Last edited by ChadFL; 08-21-2012 at 07:29 PM. |

Boy somebody needs to call the wambulance for you. Jeez man you are such a bitterman. No. I'm freaking out(not really) over the fact that when you post about Ohio St, most of the time it's usually negatively or filled with some hatred or jealousy. You whine about Ohio State all the time please stop playing this innocent 'I just mentioned them as a prime example' Yeah right. And I didn't say all of the schools. I also pointed out that the most road games schools like Ohio State will play is 5 a year. USC is the exception to the rule. Whining about Ohio St. non-con schedules as I said sounds like pure haterism on your part. Let's point out every single BCS conference schools non-con schedule and you won't find very many quality opponents. These schedules are made years in advance. I love how you are always touting and pumping up UCF but now since they are on Ohio St's schedule they aren't any good anymore. Convenient. The whole point of this is who the heck cares if Ohio St plays 4 or USC plays 6 road games. You are just whining about nothing at this point. Last edited by bootsy; 08-21-2012 at 08:10 PM. |

while i welcome the fact that my team opens up with Michigan in dallas (arlington, actually) this season, i do wish we'd get rid of the 3 non-conference "cupcake" teams (western kentucky, florida atlantic and western carolina) we seem to play every freakin' season.
i know, i know, "be careful what you wish for". but you can't be the best if you don't play and beat the best. i'd much rather play teams from other bcs conferences like stanford, texas tech, ohio state, oklahoma, oklahoma state, oregon, etc. than those "Easier" teams. i realize that playing those types of teams helps to ensure a better win/loss record, but you don't prove anything by playing inferior teams. and i mean inferior in terms of strength-of-schedule credibility, not inferior by any other means; as was proven last year when we played georgia southern (who scored more points on us than any other team we played last year). I'm in no way an Ohio State defender but they usually try to play at least one top-tier team in the non-conference. In 2010 and 2011 they played Miami, who they expected to be a very good team when the games were scheduled. In 2008 and 2009 they played USC. In 2005 and 2006 they played Texas. Most quality major conference teams play one quality opponent and three cupcakes in non-conference and for the most part Ohio State's done that.

As for UCF. We had a losing record last year and we're a CUSA school. Pumping them up? Hardly. But hey, if you want to count us as a "quality win" go right ahead. Then again we do have one thing in common. Both of our schools have a 0% chance at the postseason this season. ![]() |

As for Ohio St playing a notoriously easy schedule is not true as well. Since 2002, there non-con schedule has consisted of: 02 - Washington St. Texas Tech, @Cincy 03 - NC State, Washington 04 - @NC State 05 - Texas 06 - @Texas 07 - @Washington 08 - @USC 09 - USC 10 - Miami-FL 11 - @Miami-FL, Colorado Until this year they've had at least 1 BCS school on their non-con schedule. Like I said having a soft non-con schedule is the nature of college football but to say their schedule has been notoriously weak is incorrect. Last edited by bootsy; 08-21-2012 at 08:39 PM. |
