anyone else get this bluray. i got mine today and it strange the strink wrap on it felt weird like the kind u see on re sealed movies. also bluray case had sharp square edges rather then the rounded edges u normaly see. also when i pealed off the security seal half of the bluray logo on the case pealed off with it never had that happen before.

Olive films uses a slightly different shaped keep case for their Blu-ray releases.
My copy of Private Hell 36 (released by Olive the same week as Thinner) also had the same problem. (security tape peeled off part of the Blu-ray insignia) This company is in the process of correcting problems with the security tape they use. The tape that came with all previous Olive BDs left a sticky residue behind on the case. |

guess thats it this was the first movie i've ordered from that company. seems weird that the strink wrap was around the slipcover rather then the movie case. also the ponits were it was melted togther were on the back of the strink wrap rather then the sides like u normaly see.

I bought a copy of the BD at Import CDs - received it on street date but only because I preordered a while ago Import CDs is very slow with shipping (or rather the method they use). PQ was very good but I don't think the disc will be on any of my top ten lists of favorite movies - the film didn't hold up as well IMO, with one of the least-convincing fat suit jobs I've seen to date. The gimmick wasn't really perfected until the Eddie Murphy Nutty Professor films several years later.

The 2.0 track is in Stereo despite the review on this site stating that it features a Mono track.

Just wanna point this out. I watched this on cable in ft. lauderdale fl. some time ago on a horror channel called "chiller" and there was at least 10 minutes of deleted scenes that I've never seen or heard anywhere else.
The only scene in particular I can remember offhand was Billy consulting with Richie (Joe Mantegna) after his cop friend dies, but before he goes off looking for the gypsies. |

Thinner is a weird movie. It's kind of a disturbing comedy. It's in no way scary but there's definitely something weird about it. Like a Twilight Zone thing. Billy is also kind of a jerk and hard to root for. There's no good guy there either.

![]() Which, once the Joe Mantegna character comes in in the second half, livens up the story completely And I don't care if it IS a necro-bump, I'll stick up for the cult value of almost any underappreciated Tom Holland film. ![]() If Shout Factory could rescue the reputation of Psycho II, maybe this can be next. |
