The complete list why this movie rules:

1- Alain Delon at his climax, just PERFECT while wearing his Zorro mask and costume. Best visual Zorro ever been. Plus, his "civilian" identity is the most deliciously "gay" performance I ever witnessed.

2- Great story, they actually changed the concept of Zorro. Nice and brilliant "reimagining".

3- TERRIFIC action, greatest swordfight ever been in movies since man created cinema.

4- SPAGHETTI WESTERN-like humour and drama mixed together in a brilliant way.

At last but not least:

5- Best theme song ever witten for a superhero. EVER.

YES TO EVERYTHING TO THE ABOVE!!!

I love this film, the film's tone and naff song is so innocent without being overtly camp. Also Alain Delon is, in my opinion, the best Zorro. Equal to Tyrone Power and far better than Banderas. However I'm going to wait for the the PQ/AQ reviews before purchasing this since I already own the French R2 DVD which has an English mono track and also has the 2hr cut of the film.

Hopefully the Blu ray will release this with an Italian track, will love to see it in Italian.

(the Italian dubbing was great, especially Delon's voice).

Is English the original language?
because I see most actors are italian.
I always like to watch a film in the original language that it was filmed with the actors' own voices.

The movie was French/Italian. The director, Duccio Tessari, was Italian. Ottavia Piccolo and most of the actors were Italian, indeed.

I would humbly suggest it is ONE of the greatest Zorro movies and certainly I will be glad to have it. The Tyrone Power / Basil Rathbone 1940 version has yet to be equalled however. Now that was a fencing feast and a brillaint movie.

I love the Power version, but... no way! Nothing can top the swordfight at the end of 1975's "Zorro", and I didn't like the fact Tyrone Power was given a much limited "being masked" time.
