Yes, for the collectors edition there will be seperate disc for 3D, 2D, DVD, and special features.

I'll be getting the Collectors Edition, love the cover art.

The deleted scenes listed for the collector's edition total almost 35 min.

I'm hoping for that, too. Still, Collector's edition day 1 for me no matter what.

I'd resigned myself to the deleted scenes not being incorporated - but then they had to show us the image of the 'Evolution' set (Slipback image), which has a little poster included in the set which says:

"Director's Special Edition"

I'm worried to have a false sense of hope, but it really would be great to have some kind of extended cut.

I'm hoping if there is an EC it will have the fight at the end that was cut. They would have to spend more money to finish the effects, though. Unless, the effects were already finished when the scene was cut.

No matter what I'm picking up the Collector's Edition. I loved the theatrical cut anyways, and as long as the deleted scenes are available to watch I'll be happy.

Aren't the answers already in the movie?

Engineers corpse carbon dated at 2000 years old. Where does that match in human history?

Isn't the end of the movie where Shaw shouts out at the audience more her coming full thematic circle in failing to comprehend again that it was belief in her GOD that was responsible for the engineers wanting to wipe us out?

Loving those new cover arts. So different from what the studios have been recently lately. Kinda love it.

While I'm less crazy about the 2D edition cover design (seems like a traditional studio photoshop job), I do agree that this was a great direction to go in concerning the BD release. It seems like they're stressing the Sci-Fi elements more than the Horror element, which was the highlight of the theatrical marketing. They were advertising this like it was going to be the twin of 'Alien' (the trailers especially made it seem just as terrifying).

I think this led to a certain expectation with the film. But the more times I saw this, the more I realized it was the sci-fi elements that I felt were the film's strongest qualities. I think the cover art they're going with is much closer in line with the tone of the film, and I'm happy for the change in direction.

Having the F&F movies in your collection makes your insight null and void.

Belittling one's opinion and taste makes you an arrogant *insert expletive of your choice here*

This movie had great direction, some good and one great performance and an amazing mix of practical and CGI effects. However, the writing and choices to cut out scenes without shortening the exposition to fit within a "theatrical" runtime, left this movie a VERY sour taste in my mouth. I found more answers about the plot points they left out of the theatrical cut from interviews from Ridley Scott and producers more so than I did from watching the movie! Something that should definitely NOT happen.

This is definitely one to watch the Director's cut of.

I initially gave it a rating of 2.5/5 on RT.com because of that alone.

Don't like it? Deal. Everyone has an opinion, and they're all right to that one person; you enforcing yours over mine isn't going to change that. Respect mine, I respect yours.
