There's no way to be sure. Hollywood is ever changing. Like I said, just wait for official news to hit. You don't have to bump the thread. Just wait and watch to see if this thread gets bumped. That'll indicate what news we have. We have nothing right now other than the fact that the last draft they had has been scrapped because it wasn't very good.

Oh, okay. Yes, that's correct. They had to rewrite Pirates 4's script because of it not being very good apparently. Do you remember when they started rewriting Pirates 5 script ?

Saw Pirates 4, and thought it was easily the best since the 1st movie. Jack was once again a lovable rogue, as opposed to someone willing to screw over anyone and everyone for his own selfish ends. People forget that in the first film, he was actually a decent guy at heart, which is why Turner and Swan rescue him to begin with. In the second and third film, he blithely screws over both of them, without a seeming care in the world. The fourth film thankfully remembers who Jack is, and on the whole, I enjoyed it immensely. Really don't understand all the grief it gets.

I heard after the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 they are going to make one last to wrap the whole series up. Honestly, they should have left it at three Pirates movies.

I think they should've left it at ONE Pirates movie.

That first installment is so much better than the rest of them, it's not even funny.

Probably because Blackbeard isn't as scary as he should be and it was missing a lot of the characters from the first 3 films that people enjoyed so much, albeit understandably so. It has grown on me quite a bit since the first time I saw it though.

That, and by the third movie, it felt like Jack had become more of a shallow exaggeration of what his character was like in the first. The "My Peanut" scene actually made me cringe.

I adore At World's End, the thing I would change though is take out a lot of the talking and make it about 2 hours long.

That's about what I would agree with as well....it was about 25 minutes too long...that said, I still loved it!

I also loved At World's End - but I wouldn't change a thing. In fact, I wouldn't change any of the first three. As for the fourth, well, it's an underdeveloped load of rubbish, and Ian McShane as Blackbeard is criminally underused.

It's true. POTC 1 didn't exactly warrant a sequel but due to the popularity of the film they created another film which while it was still had that dark tone to it with the whole plot with Davy Jones coming to claim Jack Sparrow's soul it did have a great deal more humor this time around. POTC 3 went a bit more back to what the first film in terms of the violence, it wasn't as comical as the last one and it had similar dark environments that the characters were involved in that brought your mind back to the first film at times. I did have some problems with this film but over all I think it was still a good movie and I enjoyed it very much.

The fourth film honestly it was good but it wasn't great. I give an average rating only because I think the movie dragged out way too long and I think part of was largely due to the fact of the love story between Philip and Serena who were clearly there only to replace the Will and Elizabeth. Hopefully the 5th one if they ever get made will focus more so on Jack and Barbossa and the crew of the Black Pearl.

That's correct. They are going to make a Pirates of the Caribbean 5, and possibly a Pirates of the Caribbean 6. But, hopefully they will not film them back to back with an unfinished script though, after what happened with Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End.

I just hope that they get Gore Verbinski back to direct any further films - his directorial style adds so much good to them (unlike Rob Marshall who directed the fourth).

I could see him coming back for the next one or two(it was gonna be another trilogy wasn't it?) After all he's doing The Lone Ranger with Disney, might have had at least minor discussions with them internally about returning.

That is true. I did like the way Gore Verbinski Directed Pirates 1,2 and 3. I thought Rob Marshall tried his best though, when he was directing Pirates 4. 9 of Pirates 4's Deleted scenes that were not released with last years 2011 Blu-ray release of Pirates 4, and they should of not been taken out of Pirates 4.

This!!

The second Pirates movie was barely tolerable, but the 3rd was just painful. Now I will say that I really liked On Stranger Tides. It seemed to capture some of the magic of the first film, at least in my opinion.
