you really think this is common knowledge? not everyone who posts on here lives on the internet and knows everything about every obscure release.

It would be pretty easy to realize that a blu-ray is not possible by reading one or two dvd reviews. Since kong73 knows about HUMONGOUS, it'd be pretty elementary for them to find out it was released and then deduce that since a dvd was released by one company that another company could not release a bd. It's all quite simple, really.

Ha, same here. I catch myself saying that line ever so often, when I'm rolling the trash cans to the curb.

A double feature blu of SNDN 1 & 2 would be most welcome. I had the old Anchor Bay double feature DVD, but it was unfortunately stolen along with my House/House II double feature, both of which are rare and OOP now.

Hey Cliff, I thought you might want to know that the pre-order listing for "Halloween II" over at Amazon lists "Terror in the Aisles" as a special feature in its product description. I figured you'd want to know so people who aren't on forums like these aren't disappointed when it ships.

Um.. wha?

Anyways, HUMUNGOUS was released by Scorpion Entertainment (I do believe), and being that Scorpion Entertainment has announced DEATH SHIP and GRIZZLY (and I think DAY OF THE ANIMALS) for blu-ray releases, there is a good possibility that maybe... just maybe... they will eventually release HUMUNGOUS on blu-ray.

Very doubtful since I believe the DVD was a tape source due to a lack of suitable materials. Unfortunately, I don't think a Blu-ray will be coming our way for that reason. It's nice to see that Walter takes a lot of pride in the materials he handles and they weigh heavily on the decision whether a film will get the Blu-ray treatment from Scorpion. I know he recently mentioned that "The House on Sorority Row" is being considered which is A-okay with me.

So that means production on extras haven't started yet either. In regards of where I heard about the extras, it was here:

http://www.cartoonbrew.com/dvd/upa-on-dvd.html

I won't bring this up anymore, so will just wait and see (I'll buy the set nonetheless).

Anyway Cliff, asuggestion; for the new commissioned artwork of Phantasm II is it possible to make the font of "Phantasm II" identical to the Anchor Bay releases/Universal's II cover so it will match the recent releases while the reverse cover with classic artwork featuring the original/theatrical marketing font.

So Halloween II SFCE earns solid marks and receives the blu-ray.com seal of approval for those who were a little reluctant.

However...
Halloween III SFCE receives a borderline positive-mediocre review.
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Hallo.../24433/#Review

I can understand the lack of 5.1 audio being a factor.
And the movie itself being the outcast of the first 3, therefore rarely getting credit on its own merits and sometimes subjected to harsher criticism for not falling in line with 1 &2. I think Lieberman expertly navigated those waters. Still, his assessment of the image quality (which I can only observe for now on screen shots) seems a little too quickly dismissive. The picture really looks great to me. Simply based on what I've come to expect from 80's era catalog titles of this genre, it easily passed my eye test. I guess when it comes to a debut of a catalog title such as this, it's aged cult-charm captured in a first-time release that goes above and beyond what a major studio would have done has me look upon it more favorably.

Why would Amazon remove slips? I've never heard of them doing that.

I asked this in the PII thread, but is the Phantasm II release going to have new docs with interviews with the actors, etc. on it? Also curious about how much of the cast, etc. will be interviewed.

It's only 4 months away from 2013. lol A Red Shirt documentary would certainly be nice. Over all, I heard this disc will have a lot of stuff, so I'm just curious about what will be on there.

If I recall, Red Shirt Pictures will be involved in creating most, if not all, the newly made special features for the disc. There was a Q&A panel with Felscher at a recent convention where he briefly commented on "Phantasm II". Based on that as well as Cliff's recent comments on the title, it's sure to be a really impressive release.
