They were the first site to list a release date for Season 1 and it was accurate so this might be also.

Just discovered this topic and I'm referring to some posts that some made on the first page. Now, please bear with me for a moment.

First, the reason why the second season was cut short to 22 episodes has nothing to do with production, the actors or the directors. I watched the original broadcast of the entire series and I can tell everyone that this was a result of the "Writer's Strike" that happened during the second season, which shut down production on the series.

Second, I did some searching on the whole Gates McFadden leaving the series at the end of the first season and it had nothing to do with harassment from the staff, crew or production. According to a post from way back in 2001, a lucky fan was able to ask the actress about this herself, and she had remarked that she wanted more input on her character and that the producers refused her request. This was when she was written out of the series and replaced with Diane Muldaur, whom everyone remembers, appeared in an episode in the original series. During the second season, fans were so upset over this change that they petitioned Paramount to bring Gates McFadden back. It was Rick Berman who asked Patrick Stewart to talk to Gates McFadden and convince her to return, along with a hefty increase in her salary for the third season.

What? You remember her fondly as this ***** from "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" but not as the hot redshirt / redskirt Lt. Cdr. Mulhall from "Return to Tomorrow" who kissed Captain Kirk?

Three extra rounds around the outer corridors on deck 7 for Mr. Kemcha and when you get back to your quarters mandatory viewing of the USS Enterprise log stardate 4768.3. Captain's orders!

Patience, a virtue a Jedi Knight has.

Good luck waiting at least another 3 years...

Dude, I would hear ya, if this was a series that already had HD masters for release and they were just dribbling them out one season at a time, but it isn't...they're recreating each season in Post again, so we're only getting 2, maybe 3 seasons per year.

Get'em now, while they're hot!

It would be nice if they'd record new commentaries with the cast. Even better if they did all the episodes!

Good! That means we should hopefully see 3 seasons next year!

im quite happy with the season one art work and size of the box.

the original dvd sets took up way too much space

one thing i find lacking in the blu ray set, and given the high price i think it should be included, is a synopsis for each episode on an inner card insert.

the dvd sets had those!

but thats just a minor niggle

There is a print out with the episodes name on each disc available on the Season 1 thread.
