I had this happen to me twice already.


First time was on the 103 disc set of Will & Grace Boxed Set (Complete Seasons 1-8) ... On the Season 1 DVD case 2, a disc was missing.


Amazon.co.uk sent me a replacement order, and I returned the faulty one. They made no demands or asked for anything.


Second time only a few months later, bought The OC complete season 3 on a FNAC store here mainland Portugal - only to get to my island and realize another DVD was missing from one of the DVD cases. When I got back there a couple weeks later they also replaced my purchase with a brand new one.


Unfortunately either someone is taking the DVDs and keeping them / reselling them, or some manufacturers need to rethink their procedures


My advice is, if you buy something, open it and check it straight away. If you are buying something in a store somewhere, open it before leaving the store.

I guess it is not that rare of a thing if they replace it no problems (which they should).

I hate shoplifters. Who would want the disc and not the case? That's pointless.

I never had a problem with movies, but I did get a video game for christmas that didn't have a disc in it. It was from Bestbuy and they replaced it without a problem.
