Default Anybody else tired of the poor Amazon packaging?

Im not sure if its bad luck or what but my last two blu-ray orders (both in the past two weeks) from amazon came damaged in the mail and had to get them replaced. In general I think close to half of my orders (in the past year) come damaged in some way, most of the time it is damage to the case/slipcover and some times to the actual physical disc itself. I think that every time i order a bluray from amazon I always leave a negative package feedback and recommend them to ship items in the card-board box as oppose to the bubble-wrap envelops. Anybody else have problems with their blus from amazon???

Edit: Misspelled Amazon in the title line, anybody if i can/how i can edit that ?

Anybody else tired of people complaining about Amazon packaging?
Seriously though, some people just have bad luck I guess. I never get poor or mishandled packages from Amazon.

Be careful. Amazon is known to ban people for having a high rate of returns/exchanges. If your Unhappy about the packaging then buy at the store

I have had many slightly to seriously damaged items from amazon (movies, books, games, etc). A lot of folks around here claim that they've never had an issue with Amazon's shipping preferences, and that baffles me. And no, I'm not one to send back dented slipcovers, and minor things like that. But if I get a comic with a dented corner or creased cover (paperbacks), then I have every right to request an exchange because I take pride in my collection. As for BDs, I take pride in the physical appearance of them as well, but I've stopped complaining about cracked and broken cases because I don't want to get banned eventually. I'd rather just order replacements. And I've only had one issue with a damaged disc. I got a replacement from the studio's HE department.

It's an Amazon head shop. They specialize in bongs.

And why get tired of people complaining about their bad luck? Be grateful you don't have it, and stop visiting their threads if they bother you. (Not being confrontational, just making a point)

Nope. 99% of my Blu-ray orders from Amazon ship in the box designed for DVDs. The other 1% is the bubble mailer (which they will sometimes use if they ship via USPS), but nothing has ever arrived damaged.

Are you a Prime member? I wonder if maybe that could be the issue? My orders usually ship via UPS and Lasership (or A1 if they are giving me same-day delivery) and those are always in a box.

Because it happens too much here and I'm tired of seeing it. Do we really need new threads everytime someone gets a less than satisfactory package? I think some people just want attention. I'm entitled to my opinion just like everyone else.

After seeing a ton of those video's of disgruntled overworked UPS delivery employees flinging packages around and kicking them out of frustration or anger I'd tend to believe it could possibly be the guy who drives your delivery route.

I get a ton of packages from Amazon and very few have these issues. That being said I think Amazon should ship all boxsets, digibooks, slipcovers in boxes.

Yes you are entitled to your opinon. I didn't say you weren't. As for the new threads, yes they're redundant and could be posted in another part of the forum, but I still sympathize with people who have this bad luck because it's happened to me. If you haven't experienced it, then you're more likely to get tired of it faster I guess.

It's really THAT big of a deal? It isn't like this compalint came up in the middle of some other thread. You clearly saw what the topic was before you decided to take the time, click on the thread, then start posting. And now instead of talking about the thread title, we're discussing your irritation with the discussion, which isn't much better.... If the topic bothered someone that much, I'm surprised it can't simply be ignored.

I doubt it's for attention-seeking purposes more than it is out of frustration. Some of us don't deal with getting a "less than satisfactory package" every once in awhile. It happens all the time for some of us. The question is how long do we value the convenience of Amazon over the horrible packaging? For me, not much longer. It seems to be a topic that is increasing in frequency lately, so I'm glad to see more people are getting irritated. Now all we have to do is to stop spending $$$ at Amazon.

I agree that this is in the wrong place for this - I would assume the OP wasn't aware of where the appropriate place for this is, though, so maybe give them the benefit of the doubt?

I have probably ordered over 200 movies from Amazon and have never had an issue with packaging for my Blu-ray's.

I did have an issue with a poorly packaged Apple iMac computer and Amazon took care of it with 1 day overnight shipping..

Never fear eventually the internet tax loophole will be closed and their sales will plummet. I only hope by that time there are still be retailers around who carry a wide assortment of Blurays.

That choice of packaging is specific to each distribution facility that packs your order. Out of my last 500 Amazon orders for media items, 93% of them have been in bubble mailers on Prime. Yes, I keep a spreadsheet. The only time I get a stiff cardboard mailer anymore from Amazon is when a non-local distribution center has to fill the order.

I have ordered lots of Blu-ray's from Amazon.com and had lot of issues with packaging for my Blu-ray's.
I don't undestand why Amazon shipped fragile Digipacks, Box sets or Blu-rays inside a simple enveloppe.
That's insane ! Some may have lot of chance. I don't.
I did never have any problem with AmaZon.uk or Amazon.fr.
They always have send my Blu-rays inside boxes.
So what's wrong with Amazon. com ?

I'd love to know how they choose which pacakging type to use, I'm a Prime member too but most of my Amazon orders come in those horrible yellow bubble mailers - no matter how many times I complain and leave bad packaging feedback.
