I just got my DVD like 5 days after the trailer came out

Man, you really must hate DVD's to do that.

I'm sticking with hate. No firm release date and little resale value for the dvd is my evidence.

Why not keep the dvd to still be able to watch this awesome movie in the interim?

I'd at least keep my DVDs until the PQ/AQ is reviewed by someone. I know people consider any BD an automatic upgrade over its DVD counterpart, but I'd still like to be sure it isn't a poor transfer before ditching my DVD. Idk, just me though.

I just keep my DVDs even if I have/get a film on Blu-ray. It seems pointless to sell a DVD once you get a Blu-ray. I replace a film on DVD or Blu-ray though if it's new release is superior to the previous (if it's new but missing extras, then I keep both releases no matter what format).

I keep my DVDs too. My DVDs are for the bonus features and my Blus are for the movies

I still got this on VHS.

I think my first hard on as a child was when I first saw Jessica Rabbit.

Little resale value? Mine was still sealed, never got around to watching it yet, and sealed currently sell for $30-40 right now. I sold mine for just over $30.

If a movie has a high market value, then as long as I am fairly confident the blu is coming, the sooner you sell it the better IMO or it will just fall on you, for a variety of reasons. If it was only selling for like $5 I would have waited.

This one felt a bit risky but I did it anyway. Assuming it gets released, I think they know the stakes are high for this one and will do it proper.

I care little for bonus features for most movies. I have so many things to watch, I don't have time for commentaries or "making of". I consider the shorts to be more than just bonuses, but artistic works on their own so that's why I would only be sad to have lost them and not the rest. My ultimate goal is to get rid of all of my shelf-hogging film DVDs, but there are several titles that may not happen for. A blu will be at least as good as a DVD, unless the release is bungled unimaginably. And that's good enough for me to upgrade ... When the price is right of course.

Bought it new for $10 last December when there were a ton of copies. It was $10 everywhere. Did it go OOP recently?

i am really looking forward to see the transfer that they give this. my dad copied the movie onto a blank vhs a long time ago for my brother and i to watch when we were younger and i watched it several times over the years before finally getting it on dvd a few years ago. i wonder if they will add any new interviews or stuff in or if it will be all the same special features as before.

Robert Zemeckis, one of my favorite directors. This movie is a classic. Glad his coming back to live action, looking forward for Flight.

Including new extras would be nice, but I feel that the that we'll only get the extras from the Vista Series 2-Disc set.

I hope we get *ALL* the extras, not just a selection.

I watched the DVD recently, and visually, it held up surprisingly well. Can't wait to see how much better it looks on Blu though! This film came out when I was 12 and I think I scared my mom over how much I drew Jessica. Still remains a personal favorite.

I loved the opening of this movie when I saw it at 7 years old. Just loved it... Then, it tuned into a film noir and it turned me off completely.

I really wanted to see Elm Street 4 that summer and wasn't thrilled that I was taken to this instead - though I'm sure a lot would undeerstand why I'd be taken to this and not that.

I loved the cartoon opening. I'd have to watch this movie again as an adult to see what I think. I caught about a minute of it on tv and it looked like I might appreciate it more now - I wanted a cartoon then.
