Now Jack was simply stating his personal experience that Microsoft under-delivered what he felt was promised to him. That's not slamming the 360 actually. He bought it, paid his money and found something to replace it that he feels is now better value and better met his original expectations. Not everyone can buy both or not everyone wants to - instead putting that money towards an HDTV or an upgraded audio system for 7.1 on RFOM - for example. In fact I'm sure owning both is the minority case of hardcore and early adopters. He has valid points for those undecided.

Is saying your only going to buy PS3 exclusive titles slamming it?

For example Oblivion is for the 360 and the P3?

It's not exclusive to the PS3 or 360 but your saying you would automatically buy the 360 version because it's not exclusive to the PS3?

Now that's silly ..

Owning both previous consoles - xbox only for most of that time - I actually had some rather simple criteria this time around...but actually I think I'll make that a separate post that explains why MS *lost* me as a previously enthusiastic customer this time around.

It was ironically the initial potential I saw in the original Xbox that set in motion us getting .... a PS3. An opportunity missed by MS. And while Jack's posting echo's bits - it isn't the whole story...and blu-ray is just one piece of the larger picture (bad pun intended).

They would be better off listening than sending the fan boys to flame and obscure the reasoning behind my decision.

But later - it will actually take a bit of time to write it out and structure it properly.

Let me clarify for you something:
A: I would never slam the PS3....it is one mean machine.
B: My choice of on getting PS3 games that are PS3 specific is a choice based on the achievment point system the XBOX has and the way it is alingned with my profile.
C: Your reply was a perfect example of hypersensitivity when new technology is debated, only I was not debating or slamming anything. I think both machines rule in different areas.
