Paramount/Universal (Transformers, Sweeney, Gangster, Beowulf, etc.) release dates? - Blu-ray Forum

I want transformers I boycotted buying the DVDs for both Shrek and Transformers and would not buy them until they are produced on Bluray. I have never seen either movie so Im getting inpatient.

Only Blu-beard knows for sure. He is on vacation in the Carribean drinking Rum and cokes, but will be back in a couple days. Re-post then to be sure.

Ohh...both movies will be released when Blu-Beard reaches the 5,000 post count. So, it will probably take a couple of weeks.

C'mon! Would it kill you to check out all the other threads before posting a new one?

Paramount has announced NOTHING but intent to return to releasing on Blu-ray. No titles. No dates. And their statement seems to indicate they will do whenever they feel the market warrants it. So, considering they had the worst rate among major studios for releasing, I wouldn't hold my breath for much.

Shrek was paid for ($100 million). It very likely doesn't have a Blu encoding yet, so it would probably take at least three months before it could be offered, after a decision to do so is made.

Transformers was apparently authored (Michael Bay has commented that he had input into the Blu-ray encoding). So, it would be a matter of lining up replication. Hopefully being in a lull period means such capacity is available.

There are probably several discs, in addition to Blades of Glory, that were fully produced and ready to go. Paramount would start with those, but probably in such a way to make a smooth transition to new stuff.
