Man of Steel shouldn't be on the list. Christopher Nolan is on the production team, who has stated before that 3D isn't a technique he has interest in using as of yet. Not 'he dislikes 3D', he just isn't interested enough to use the technology as of yet, as in he finds his current method of production much better than 3D.

Also, Zack Snyder turned down a 3D conversion of Sucker Punch, so that's another factor for 'Man of Steel' not being in 3D.

Thanks BD3Dfan. Noted your post #27 with "Man of Steel" Title and will delete it when the Source = Is it Real 3D or Fake 3D? corrects the listing.

Well,I agree with all your points, but tbh I don't see how Man of Steel could not be 3D?
All one needs to do is look at the success of Marvel.... Avengers made almost $500m. more than TDKR.

I guess you are right but I still pray for it to be 3D.

It doesn't matter if MoS is going to be in 3D. It's going to be terrible. After all it is a modern day superman movie.

Mad Max. Interesting. Postman Pat is based on the kids TV show I'd guess. Oz from Sam Raimi I hope. That'd be cool to see a Raimi movie in good 3D.

Man of Steel is said to be in process for conversion to 3D, but not for Imax screen ratio 3D apparently.

I want to see this in 3D. It's been redone too many times already, but this looks like a more 'realistic' take on Superman, with the sound barrier shock waves as he flies up and all.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters should be in the real 3D category

"Paramount had chosen stereotec for the live action 3D recording of the movie. Two stereotec mid size rigs were used on set and the stereography was done by lead stereographer Florian Maier and his stereotec crew."

(Wow, "My Soul To Take" and "Hoodwinked Too" both made less money than "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone" made in 1983....That's cold. )

Glad to hear this is filmed stereo 3D and not converted. Of course it has to live up to it even so for the 3D.

Thanks.
Hopefully they put a lot of time into getting it right/worthwhile, stronger 3D conversion. Pacific Rim, this is the first I've heard of this movie. I'll look it up, but it sounds like an underwater movie, or a shark movie based on the title alone.

I know it seems a bit backstabbing for them to do this to del Toro, but I'm really really happy this will be in 3D imo

Yes. Due July 2013 in theaters. Hopefully also in 3D. Giant robots versus giant monsters in Pacific Rim 3D. Sounds good if Del Toro's behind it. The creatures in Hellboy 2 are awesome.

Also hoping Hellboy 3 is filmed in 3D... Del Toro is said to be planning it next as of June/july 2012.

47 Ronin was delayed till December 25, 2013. Filmed in 3D, martial arts movie with Matrix Keanu Reeves as the lead. Hopefully they move it back to summer 2013.

Kung Fu Panda 3! for 2016 along with Avatar 2.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kung_Fu...a_3_.282016.29

How to Train Your Dragon 2 and 3? Nice.

The hard contrasts of black and white tones in Sin City 3D might be tough to get great 3D without risking ghosting (with current glasses technology), but sounds interesting.

OZ: The Great and Powerful 3D: So this one is post converted then, but likely a hybrid conversion of converted 2D and rendered CGI stereo 3D images, which judging by John Carter 3D, can turn out well for 3D.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oz:_The_Great_and_Powerful

Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters in 3D for January 11, 2013 looks interesting, "made in 3D".

Well,I would like to think that del Toro and WB will put the required work and Budget into this conversion.
I also think it will be harder to get away with a sloppy conversion since Titanic 3D,cause that truly is the Gold Standard, imo.

I'm sure we'll be pleased!

Yeah,it does come across as backstabbing. I don't really understand why WB didn't make it absolutely clear to del Toro that they want this movie in 3D.Then at least he could have factored it in for later conversion,or even worked with Stereo Rigs.

My suspicion is that WB were concerned that del Toro could jump ship if they had simply told him upfront what they wanted.

Not exactly the best way to go about this.

However I am pumped for this and will be there Opening Day!
