Based on my experience, Amazon is pretty fast with marking your order as "Shipping Soon." Once it does, you can't cancel anymore. And sometimes, Amazon makes a last minute decrease in price and if you're not happy with that last minute decrease, it's too late to cancel if it's marked "Shipping Soon."

I know, you & I have had this very same discussion before. For me, Amazon is the best "safety net" around for BD preorder purchases.
Obviously you are more apprehensive. If you find a better deal, please let me know.

I'm not looking for a "better deal." I just don't want to buy it at $55.99. When the price goes down to $34.99, THEN I will buy it. But there's no guarantee that it will happen by release day. If Amazon was so sure, they wouldn't have priced it at $55.99 to begin with. After all, if it's a guarantee that the price will drop, then how is Amazon winning by pricing it at $55.99??

Save these posts, and we'll revisit when a release date is announced, and then gets closer. I can guarantee you GoT S2 won't be anywhere near $56 even a few weeks out from release date.
It's not that difficult, just look at other HBO shows that have been released.
If you'd rather remain worried about it, be my guest....but you asked, I answered.

Ok then. I'll believe you. But I'll hold off on pre-ordering until there's something else I want. No sense in rushing to order now since the release date is months away. I'll wait until there's something cheap I want because that way, I can order that cheap item and not have to worry about what else to get in order to qualify for Free Super Saver Shipping.

The price is always high when the pre-order is first up. As of late all of HBO's releases have been $35 on release day, even the "combo packs". I have no doubt this will be $35 by the time it's released.

I pre-ordered as soon as it showed up in my Gold Box. It will NOT be $55.99 on release day. Like others have said, there's an extremely good chance it's gonna be $34.99, which means I'll get it for $33.24.

I love this show. Not only is the acting and writing top notch, but it's a great show to watch with family and friends. This show is just so amazing.

Be careful. If I read your post correctly, you're saying you will pre-order the show when you find something else cheap you want, in order to get free shipping. To my knowlege (and it's been a while since I was NOT a Prime member) when you do that, they will either hold the shipment until the pre-order is released or charge shipping on the one item because the pre-order isn't out yet. If anyone knows anything different, feel free to correct me.

I don't belive they have planned out how many seasons there will be. It's popular enough to go on for at least 7 seasons in my opinion. Or however many it takes to fit in the story from all the books.

There have been 5 books, and the conclusion still seems a long way off. Supposedly book 3 may be split into two seasons. Given the structure of books 4(focusing on only half of the characters) and 5(starts concurrently with book4, then continues the story of book 4 characters about 2/3 of the way through), they could easily be combined into a few seasons as well.

It will be AT LEAST 7 seasons. There could possibly be more, but it won't be less.
