Still shocked that Sony is giving this one up.

I wonder what is the interest for Lost Horizon? I know I want it very badly but I am wondering if it will sell out quickly? I doubt it but still worried

That one will probably land somewhere in between P@t...so you should have no problem snagging one. I mean, Lost Horizon '73 is a musical, which right there limits its potential audience...

I would be more concerned about The Blue Lagoon having a faster than usual run, especially so close to Christmas. Although I have no feelings about the movie either way, it's another 80s movie with a considerable fanbase.

Yeah, from what I have been hearing Blue Lagoon will go rather quickly (for which I am fine with since I really don't want it )

I really want Lost Horizon, alright it's not the Frank Capra version but always enjoyed that movie. What is scaring me is that word is now out more and more about Twillight and I fear that titles will start going faster and faster.

That's what everyone said about NOTLD90 relative to fright night..... We see how that went

I think with each release, More and more people are learning about TT so it's definitely not impossible for Christine to sell out faster than NOTLD90

I think that one is a very strong possibility...especially since it features one of James Horner's earliest and best scores, making it a natural for Isolated treatment.

If you want to hear Krull, go listen to another early Horner score: wrath of Khan. There are passages on them that are quite frankly identical. Otherwise that film is trash. Where's the pining for Mega Force while we're at it? I'm sure it's around here somewhere....

No doubt some will P@t...at least that's the early prediction for John Carpenter's Christine. But I think 80s horror is definitely skewing the picture here. I mean, Enemy Mine also has a very dedicated fanbase worldwide, and is an 80s genre title. Yet even after a solid 1st week of pre-orders, there are still 2000 of them available. Great pace for a pre-order, but still nothing that's going to shut out anyone who truly wants that title.

In any case, I've always maintained that we have a considerable advantage here in terms of shared information about these limited releases. And especially now that SAE has upgraded its server capacity, no one who really wants a TT Blu-ray should miss out when pre-orders go live. I just think we'll see some zippier than usual countdowns on a handful of these cult 80s horror titles.

Thanks for the reminder HD Goofnut...I haven't seen this movie or even listened to that score for almost 10 years. And I just realized, there's still an unopened Krull DVD tucked away here somewhere. So...do...I...actually...open...it? Hmmm...

BTW popeflick, I don't hear much of Khan in that Krull score...at least no more than any composer uses similar movements and arrangements as part of his/her signature style. But it wouldn't be unusual if he did...one of my all-time favourite film composers, Bernard Herrmann, was notorious for riffing on himself...there are echoes of his other pictures throughout his scores. So I 'm having trouble accepting that alone as a criticism.

Speaking as a horror fan--all I can think of is John Carpenter in his prime, and it's a Stephen King adaptation to boot. This puppy is gonna sell out, and quickly.

Edit: Oh yeah, and bring on Krull and The Blob '88 in 2013 as well!

Was toying with getting Night Of The Living Dead, but it's not really something I was all that interested in, just kind of got caught up in the near-OOP thing. Glad I procrastinated. (Didn't even think about wanting/getting Fright Night, except in retrospect, again about having an OOP title (at least I got the magnet .)

Will make it easier to pass on some of the other titles I'm not really all that keen about either, of which there seem to be a fair number of them as of late... Will likely be getting Enemy Mine, so hopefully it doesn't go too quickly, have a feeling it will sooner than I'd like though.
